Default MMW header reviews...

So I've been reading a lot about the MMW header for the tC, and im very nervous about purchasing, especially after seeing all the mixed reviews. This thread is going to be for tC owners who have/had the header installed. Can you please tell me what year your car is, when you ordered the header, and how the install went, and well as the overall experience dealing with the header? Thank you very much!

[loser responding to his own post...]

so i decided to go with alphaworks headers, and a DIY antifouler. However, i'll keep the thread open since it might be helpful to others...

I own it, love it, and only had one problem of it cracking but that was due to my driving. (I hit a dip REALLY hard and I suppose it caused it to crack.....but apparently it didn't show for months) Anyway, a week after the crack was found, the crack split completely appart. I mean, it was a clean, almost perfectly split crack right along where the pipe met with the joint. They had not welded the header all the way through. The weld was more for "appearance"....as I was told.

Anyway, other than that. I absolutely love the power throughout the entire band and many a shop tech have admired the quality and overall look.

I, however, got one of the first ones ever made. There have been revisions and it appears that many are having more issues with fitament for some reason. Some have even said that they have had issues fitting an OEM header on other cars.

I dunno, it's up to you

Thanks... I was about to jump on this MMW sale but decided to hold off untill other 4-2-1 headers are released such as Draxas or whoever else just for piece of mind. It is def. my next major mod. and I want to make the most informed decision possible.

I wouldn't plan on the header for at least another year then....especially since I'm assuming you're going to wait and see what other's opinions are on the Draxas.

Not only that, I don' t think there's an ETA on header either.

Has anybody installed the MMW header with or without a S/C and has a draxas second generation (the one with the resonator)? My question is: Is there any rasp? Please talk about it.

I already told you I have the TRD s/c, MMW header/s-pipe, and DraXas catback with resonator and high flow car. Car sounds amazing. Only the slightest hint of rasp at high RPMs. Under normal driving conditions, its sounds beautiful

thanks man - i do remember you said something ..now that you said it again. sorry. I decided to just wait for the draxas header and see how that goes. I thought it would have been a hastle getting the MMW and then selling the spipe

Thats what I did Bought the MMW and sold my DraXas s-pipe. Didn't take long at all considering the DraXas s-pipe is the least expensive (compared to creative compacts and ZPI) and IMO the best quality one.
