Default mmw misleading power?

does this header produce more power compared to other headers because it comes with the s-pipe?

Their header requires the use of their s-pipe so it cant be compared without it. That being said, they do have an advantage when comparing HP numbers. It is true however that a 4-2-1 design will improve HP throughout the RPM range better where other 4-1 designs mainly improve top end power. Most of the 4-1 designs with an s-pipe will offer similar results to the MMW 4-2-1 designs although the power curves will look different

I have the MMW header and their s-pipe in conjunction with the Draxas exhaust and the power curve is *really* excellent. The numbers they cite arn't far off at all from my gains from the MMW parts. I highly recommend their header/s-pipe combo.

The numbers they cite are stock vs their header,s-pipe, intake, and exhaust.

I wouldn't look at it as misleading though because the s-pipe completes the header set. Sure you could probably get similar gains with another header and s-pipe combo, but this does it all in one shot. And if you look at it that way, the price is reasonable too. Only thing I'm not too crazy about is the fitment issues some people have had.

I hear they've had the fitment issues all fixed a while ago.. I was one of the first to get one and had to figure out a fix on my own, since me and a friend put it in ourselves, and didn't have time to take it back out and put the stock header in.. But it's all good.. What it contributed towards my 183.3hp/191ft-lbs at the wheels was worth the trouble. :-D

When I installed mine I had no fitment issues whatsoever.

Yeah its really hit and miss on the early ones.. Basically, my problem was that they came down a touch too far to the left and rubbed on that strut under the car that protects you from bottoming out.. It wasn't too big a deal, though. The hard part was getting it IN...

meh, i installed mine last week, so it wasn't an early one :p

i think they've fixed the issues with it since there wasn't even a "near miss" in terms of fitment. was like butter ~~

I just ordered my MMW header a few days ago, but it wont arrive for 3 weeks. I know with their claims they include other parts, but what kind of HP figures does the Header/S-Pipe make by itself???

That's tough to say.. Probably only 3-5 more than 4-1 headers (over stock)... The real gains you get with these headers come as you add other parts..

Only 3-4hp more than a 4-1 header, or 3-4 more than the stock exh manf?

Than the 4-1 header. I'm estimating/guessing. What I meant was that if you get 4-5 hp with say the DC Sport 4-1 headers, you'll probably get 7-10 from the MMW headers. That's just a guess, though. You have to compliment them with the s-pipe (Believe me you WANT to use the one MMW sends you) and a full exhaust system. That's how you get the full results from the MMW parts. I blame MMW for a large chunk of my unexplained extra power. Apparantly, the whole (total power I make) is greater than the sum of the (performance) parts I have installed.

Where is the best place to get this header and S-pipe combo? I have seen them for $850 and $550. I just want to make sure that I get the newer version and not some discount old version of the header that does not fit.

Yeah mine was $500, including the S-pipe... Funny thing was Draxas told me to use MMW's s-pipe instead of getting the Draxas s-pipe with the exhaust.. I thought that was kinda cool they're straightforward about which would work better..

yeah, it's a good thing they were straight up with you, seeming how it isn't physically possible to use the draxxas s-pipe because the MMW headers are longer than stock headers.

Not sure how I would've taken it if an exhaust company told me to install a product that doesn't fit...
