You could do internals, but that's more tedious than boost, if you plan on boosting later do the internals then you can boost more, big injectors will just rich out your f/a ratio and kill your cat/plugs/sensors,cams are great though

okay for one to answer your question. getting bigger injectors without combustion
mods (cams, valves, pistons and rods) would be um worthless. and without proper
tuning a waste of gas.
and Honda's are only better n/a due to the fact that you can get engine management
for next to nothing (hondata) due to their ecu's being easy as hell to
modify (you can even re solder and flash them yourself), so any mods being done
can really be used to their fullest. and probably more-so because honda engines
are like rabbit turds..... everywhere.
and frankly there havent been enough n/a built scions to really talk ____ about anyway.
our cars could be really great with mods, but you have to pony up for an aftermarket
management system (and tuning time). which sucks but is a necessity.
you can go the boring and obvious route with Bolton's. or you can be one of the few
non commercial builders to either truly modify a 2az-fe (j3st3r) or find a
3s-gte (w/awd tranny) or a 2zz. (celica engine)
the options are endless if you have a good imagination.
hell you might even be adventurous and put an is350 engine with a is 250 manual tranny.
(which would be dope) and ultimately way more upgradable if you decided to go baller.
funny enough that an engine, and tranny from those cars may run you less than a full
turbo setup (provided you shop around, cl... ebay.. etc). finding a shop to do that kind
of work may or may not be easy though. (always time to learn the ins and outs of
modifying a transversely mounted engine and chassis to fit a different setup altogether.)
your best bet is to immerse yourself in your car, don't be afraid to ask questions and
make sure you do your homework on the engines and work it will take to finish
such a job. and ignore the hecklers (but do use the search function before asking)
if scion decides to let us dip into the ecu, we would be a different beast
altogether (might also cause our aftermarket catalog to explode). but not many
of us have the money to get engine management on top of all the usual power mods.
so until than.... home-brew installation, experimentation and development for those
of us without trust funds will be at a crawl. and scions will still be relatively slow
with the exception of the rich crowd and the few truly revolutionary people in
the scene (v8 small block rwd first gen xb).

This really could be covered by searching or just browsing the forums. There are some basic things you could look for... but just asking what could add more power is ridiculously generic. And if you don't know where to start, I'd suggest just reading a LOT of threads in this forum before asking anything.
