Default most reliable turbo kit?

Rigth now I am setting sights on the S/C. But I figure If There is a turbo kit out there that cna be close to or as reliable as that, then I will hit that up. Right now I am taking an interest in the "backyard brawler" kit from turbotoyotas. any thoughts?

SEARCH PLEASE.. reliability is up to you and how much you want to push out of your kit.. and how boost happy you get.. if you stay low, you should be fine.. btw.. i'm selling my greddy kit! haha and no one has had problems with it.. and it's greddy..

If you want a complete turbo kit that is going to make you happier and be more reliable than the S/C, i would suggest going with TurboToyotas "Simple" Kit. It will get you more HP off of the same boost and the TurboToyota kits are very reliable.

Anyone on here who has a TT kit (including myself) can attest to that. I have the "Stage 2" kit running 10psi and still no problems.

The "Simple" kit is $3249.00 w/ EVERYTHING you need to get the car running and to a tuner. Thats the road i would suggest rather than the S/C...MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!

They also have excellent customer service and will help u with any issues u may come across.

^^^that is a possibility, but no one here has had any problems with their TT kits...plus the GReddy has limited potential for BIG power later if u so choose.

what? theyve had all sorts of issues with the internally gated turbos.

TurboToyotas and Dezod have the best reliability IMO. i love my TT kit, can't complain.

i haven't heard anyone have any problems with the greddy.. you can't expand with the internal wastegate that's all.. and it's greddy.. they've been around for how long?

Actually i agree with Jax...too many issues with internally gated turbos...much easier to tinker with and make power with external WGs

But...FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, dont go with Turbonetics...i have heard too many people having problems with those kits...again not really expandeable without spending LOADS of cash

dont get me wrong...GReddy is an EXCELLENT brand...but they would've done alot better making the kit externally WGed...they weren't makin it carb legal anyways so they should've just gone ALL OUT and knocked out Turbonetics!

Yes they do! I believe both the TT "Simple" and "Basik" kits are avail for autos...if ur looking for something comparable to the Turbonetics though i would go with the "Simple" kit...its makin better numbers and comes complete as a better system than the Turbonetics!

great, well i'll be in contact with TT to see about adding to and ordering the kit. after a lot of searching and reading here on SL the biggest point of sale for me is not getting stuck with unichip management, and it seems like i'd get better support from TT. which i am damn well gonna need, i haven't heard of any other F/I rav4s..(edit, F/I rav4s with the 2-azfe). this is gonna be fun, not only am i auto, im AWD :D
