I'm not sure how much a short shifter and cable bushings would actually stiffen the side to side movement of the shifter, because mine are still stock(for now). If they have made it stiffer then yes this product will probably make it really stiff, but it will help to mis-shift less, because you will be able to find 3rd or 4th much easier when shifting quick

I also have recently installed a short shifter and the difference is phenomenal. Having both the short shifter and shift return springs really tightens up the shift feel, you can feel it go into every gear.
