Im just a young'n going for looks on my car....instead of buying a whole exhaust system like most people do can i just get a muffler and get that installed?

 

answer: yes

but why? just a muffler will MAYBE give you 1-2 whp (because the stocker is pretty restrictive). mostly though, it's all sound.

I would go with the TRD exhaust, that is all for looks and sounds.

if its just looks and sound - then trd. that is the only time ive ever told someone you should prob go trd on the exhaust (cause its just not worth spending a few hundred dollars on a part that doesnt even help a tad in performance if all the other ones do).

 

yup...go with TRD, that's what I did. but you get use to the sound really fast.

are APC mufflers any good, my friend has one

 

ebay has both new and used ones, u just have to be patient. other than that i think Sparks and mcgeorge has the best price. or you can always check in the classified section for a used one.

p.s.- if you want sound as in loud ricer, then this exhaust isn't for you. This one is very quiet but still noticeable! It has a nice sound when you step on it and a good takeoff!

 

thats cool, but anyone have any input on the APC mufflers?? good? bad? my friend has one and I wanted to see what you guys thought. Im going to look at some TRD ones tommorrow

 

APC is somewhat raspy and IMO overpriced. I would recommend for just muffler...If you like the cannon look go either Injen or HKS exhaust...if you like just a stock-ish look with a better sound then go either TRD or Magnaflow

yah the precision muffler axel-back sounds great and its one of the cheaper ones pricewise. and gabe is nothing but a great guy to work with, he done some work on my car and its been great.

Definitely look into the PM Axle Back! Not as loud as the TRD Exhaust and not that EXPENSIVE like the TRD Exhaust!
