When the hydroshield was put on the filter was moved a tad and now doesn't rub AS bad, but still has slight contact.

What kind of hydroshield is that? I thought there weren't any concerns of hydrolocking with a SRI (except when fording rivers).

Its an INJEN hydroshield, its made of breatable nylon or what ever and isnt suppose to compromise the air flow. Also keeps the filter cleaner on my dusty country roads.
I guess you shouldn't be concerned with hydrolocking in sr mode but I rather be safe than sorry.

Yeah, that was one of the reasons. It matches, keeps filter cleaner because I live on dusty country roads, added insurance incase any freak accident happens, plus its not done much wanted something different because it actually looks nice in person.

 

You Are compromising the little HP you gained with that SRI. No nylon or any other synthetic material for that matter will breath as well as your filter. Thats just a marketing scheme just like the insertable silencers that aren't supposed to effect performance. If you are going for looks then you accomplished it. Performance, not so much.
