Default Is my TC losing torque?!

Alright this might sound stupid, and it might just be in my head but I cant really tell. I bought my TC used with 17000 miles, and during my first test drive I was really impressed, it was so torquey off the start I fell in love. (i'm sure you all know what im talking about). But anyway, Ive had it for about 3000 miles, and i feel like its been losing some of that power. I dropped in an AEM cai and it seemed even better after that, but it didnt seem to last. I figured my oil just needed to be changed, and of course my maint needed light went on like a week later, but i was expecting a huge difference when I changed it, and when i did i didnt see any difference. what's going on?? am i just getting used to my car or is something wrong?

I used castrol syntec btw and a fram filter btw.

The Intake Changes things a bit... especially after the ECU learns a bit... some notice a torque loss with the CAI, but it's most likely mental...

An oil change won't effect your performance in any way you'd notice, so that's definately not it...

You may have just gotten used to the sound of the CAI and now it doesn't feel as powerful .....

Yeah I think a lot of times you just get used to your car and it seems like it has downgraded a bit. Proof for me in this would be when you havent driven your car in say a month or so and then you drive it again... Feels new!

Very apparent if you enjoy driving through lakes.

1. you installed a CAI which will give you a hair loss feeling of the torque because now your sucking in larger amounts of in a big tube vs small amounts of air in a small tube. that is normal when installing a CAI.

2. do not use fram filters they are arbage. i would recomend OEM filter or mobil 1 filter.

3. part mental.

Synthetic oil MAY provide a small increase in power, though it's a big source of debate.

I think your butt dyno is getting calibrated, and now you're just used to the power you have. Sit in the passenger seat one day and let someone else floor it, then you'll feel it again.
