Default NA tC with ITB, is it possible??

Not long ago I saw the motor FX xA with individual throttle body and I was wondering if this was possible for a tC and what may the performance improvement be? Since it's custom I assume it would not be cheap so more or less how much would this run for? May this cause any problems for the engine?

yes its possible...anything is really possible with enough cash. but sinse the tC has the 'drive by wire' computer controlled TB, you would prolly have to convert it to a cable operated system. and this topped with the fabrication of an ITB setup would make it a pretty expensive task. prolly not worth doing on a $20,000 car.

This would be extremely expensive. Just ignoring the actual fabricating of the ITB's, the ecu would have to be addressed (like dex said) and the tuning would make it expensive. It is extremely hard to tune an ITB setup. Just making the car idle will be an extremely difficult task and would be VERY expensive to tune from scratch. Unless you want you car to become a dedicated race car with all the supporting modifications, then this should probably not even be considered. It will probably not hurt the engine but like I said it is hard to tune and if this is a daily driver it might make it unbearable to drive unless tuned perfectly and may require constant changes.

Make sure you get a hood that'll vent the header's heat!

No company willing to make some ITBs? If they do it for RSXs, then why not ours? J/K Just curious as to why Motor FX never finished the ones for the tC.

we have a MAF. The honda's have a MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) sensor. In our case, there is no way the ECU is going to know how much air is coming into the engine. If you were standalone you could, but it's not worth the expense for an N/A tC.

people put ITB's in 4AGE powered AE86 corollas. these motors come with maf sensors too, but are removed. i met a guy who used a piggyback computer to get rid of the maf. i think it was a HKS VPC, but I know Apexi makes a similar product. i wonder if Greddy makes an adapter for the Emanage Ultimate to allow this. either way we'd be looking at $1000-1500 for ITB's + electronics.

it is possible to run the MAF on an ITB set up.. please wait until january and you will see it is possible... to give you some thought, if you make a single tube chamber and run the Throttle actuator with butterfly rod and use the other side of the chamber as the MAF location you can do it. just be patient.. it will come out. =]

I totally forgot about that VPC. My friend had it in his eclipse which had an atmospheric bov. Didn't hks stop making these though?

You will gain hp by doing this but you will also be sacraficing torque. Everyone I have ever seen do this and dyno you gain a considerable amount of hp but lose tq.
