oil pump.....low oil pressure. Typically by the time the oil light comes on you already did damage.

suppose to check your oil on a regular basis, but a knocking sound isnt a good sign, could be engine damage

My buddy out here in Louisiana recently had the same problem.
Had a oil pump failure.
Had to replace the engine.

i did check the oil level, its fine. but for the oil pump havnt check. but yeah my car is still under warranty. have 53000 miles and warranty ends at 60000 ahaha. i did call toyota and they said it should still be under powertrain warranty and that they will inspect it. but they also said they might have to do a diagnose test which is $105 in hour! wtf! why do i have to pay for that when the car is still under warranty? are they gonna reinburse me? and are they gonna provide me with a tow since its under warranty? ahhhhh man everything is falling apart...and after all this is figured out i hope toyota dont be a ___ about it and make excuses that its my fault and etc and that i have to pay for it instead of using my warranty...so guys wish me good luck im going to take my car on tuesday to see whats goin on and hopelly they can help me and dont pay a cent ahahaha

The way that it works, is that the normal inspection charge for any vehicle problem is what the store charges for hourly work. If it's determined that the vehicle has a defect, not damage done by the owner, and that it's covered under the warranty, then the labor amount is refunded or not charged to the customer at all. If it's determined that the vehicle owner damaged the car or that it's not covered under the factory warranty then the customer is responsible for the hourly charge. Sorry, that's a little wordy, but it's essentially correct.
