Default New Megan Racing Header

Hey guys,

I just recently picked up the newer version of the Megan Racing Header and S pipe. I am told by them that it is the newer version that didn't have the issues of the original one. I was curious if anyone knew whether or not I will need an anti fouler or anything special to prevent it from throwing a CEL. Please do let me know. Thanks in advance.

yes you do need it . the antifouler are nothing but spark plug non fouler that you can get at any parts store. brand name is help. they come in different sizes, which one? its all luck.

if you do get a CEL, dont just unhook the battery and reset it. get a OBD2 reader and see what it is. most probly its P0402.

since your not new to the forums, just look up Megan thru the search

im confused, i notice creativecompact.com and racingsolution.com sell the megan header but they still display the older version... so, is the old megan header still around and being sold?

is there a dyno test for the newer version?

Make your own Antifouler for $4. Make sure you put it on the Spipe, not the header itself.

you can delete it but the ECM will test again for discrepancy between the 2 sensors after certain amount of cycles. im keeping track of mine and i see the pattern already.

Do not reset any CEL that you havent read. You dont need to reset the computer if you pull the code using a OBD2 read. you can erase it.

I just installed everything this weekend the Megan Header and Megan S pipe. I used the Help! Antifouler that Keaon posted for the DC sport install. Drove probably for say 30 miles and then the CEL came on. Not sure what to do. Scared to drive it not sure if its bad for it and not sure how or where to take it to read what the problem is and how to fix it? Any help or ideas guys plz? Thanks in advance.

autozone, if theres one around your area. you can borrow a OBD2 reader to read the CEL.

if you dont want to ghetto borrow it, you can always buy a OBD2 reader and delete the code itself. just make sure you fix'd the problem.

the antifouler is not guaranteed to be 100% fix. yes you can drive it but expect bad gas mileage.

even if you buy the 550+ MMW header it still will give you a chance of CEL.

read the code, then see if its the cat code then delete.

OK guys so I got the OBDII reading and it says its a P0037 code. According to the print out it is the header COntrol Circuit is Low (Bank1 Sensor 2). The guy says its definately a 02 sensor problem. I just bought another anti fouler pack today thinking about stacking 3 on there. I already tried to do a reset by the battery but the light comes back on right after I start back up the car. Any ideas? This is a striaght up **** any help would be most appreciated.

ill have to double check on my notes, i wrote down all the CEL on my car.

you dont have to stack 3 up, if you notice it comes in 2 different lenghts and you do have to drill out the inside to allow the sensor to fit inside. you can mix and match but no combination is guaranteed. stacking 3 might compromise clearance underneath too.

it can also a possibility that you screwed up your first sensor. if you did thats more trouble to you since it will cost you somewhere around 170-200$.

unhooking the battery is just a waste of time if you have a OBD2 reader, just read and delete or else you have to go thru the pain of sync all your windows
