The rain isn't causing the CAI to trip the CEL. It's gotta be something else. The only thing associated with the CAI that will make it trip is your MAF sensor. Unplug it, give a nice clean, that should fix that problem. If it keeps tripping, I would find out the code its throwing and get it fixed, especially because it's a used vehicle, you never know what your gonna get (Forest Gump)

SEARCH!

What brand CAI did you purchase and install?

A header won't burn up o2 sensors. And you'll notice some throttle response and a little upper end with a header and stock exhaust. Go get a catback before a header though.

I'm guessing you have a raceland cai. Put the stock back on and sell that crap.

just because he has a raceland intake doesnt mean that would be the problem. Had one for a while with no problems.

make sure your MAF is tight and make sure the hose that connects to the intake isn't pinched or anything.

Raceland and Fujita are the 2 intakes known to cause CEL's because the pipe diameter at the MAF mounting point is bigger then stock.

All the cheap ones cause cels because the pipe difference only one that was good was hps brand anyways back to topic

I would take the maf out and use ONLY MAF SENSOR cleaner on it I'm turbo and when mine gets gunked up after a burnout session car acts up in the rain and other type weather changes its really on its way out too I shld replace that as soon as I finish my time here in korea

Spicy I see your at langley how do you take to that I used to work over there as a contractor with inside out services the landscaping company that take care of the officer housing areas

You may think that, but that is not the issue.

Amazing how I said it caused the CEL all of the time. Glad SL is so performance oriented with true technical knowledge around.

sure is, you must be so concerned with performance when you have a 300 dollar piece of pipe with a filter on it.

When I had the tC I got my Injen for 200 bucks. And while I preach the fact that an intake is just a pipe and filter, there are characteristics that will make it cause a CEL. Like the issue stated earlier where the diameter of the pipe is too large at the MAF point.

well this characteristic doesnt effect every car. And some who have had cel have found it was something else like a pinched breather hose. The only thing that truly sucks on the raceland is the filter.
