Well, it is not the best thing for the engine. It is hard on a lot of parts and is not entirely without risk. That is why we recommend that you keep the duration of the 2-step as short as possible to make your launch and that you give it plenty of time to cool between runs.

Luckily on your car we were able to wire a fuel and ignition cut, so it will be a little bit less harsh on the catalytic converters, but it will still cause them to heat up. That is why you want to keep the 2-step duration short. Don't just sit on it for minutes at a time to make a lot of noise. Use it for a few seconds right before you launch.

It is similar to most other performance parts on the market. You are willing to accept some additional wear and tear in order to gain performance.

However, an interesting durability note. GM was confident enough in its reliability to include it in a warrantied car. I would say that speaks well of launch control and no-lift shifting. But, I cannot say there will be 0 added risk to your car, because then our company will be held liable.

So, a long winded answer to say, yes and no. :-)

Ok, sounds good. My wiring website doesn't have the greatest information for the 08. I will see what I can dig up. Can you take a look at your car to see if your wire colors match up to the pictures of the tC installation, since it is the same motor?

We'll give you the WOT Box for free if you do the test installation, take detailed pictures and send us some text explaining the pictures. Email us for all of the details.

I could also use an xA and xD test car. Email us if you are interested. Turbocharged cars are preferred.

so this has been tested on a 2007 boosted tC correct?
if so can that person chime in and tell us how it is.
im more interested in the "no lift shift" rather than the launch control.

There are 6 total wires. See here:

The specific colors for the tC are mentioned in the tC instructions:

Our email is sales@n2mb.com

Thanks!
