Next step anyone?
Hey guys im looking for some info on the next step as far as working on my tc. Ill tell you what i currently have done and what my vision is and hopefully can get some help and maby new ideas i havent thought of. Im not extremely experienced but have friends who have the passion for working on cars as well and dont mind helping me out with anything i need. I dont have a ton of money but am willing to save/spend what i can to get it done right.
I bought my 2005 tc used with 40k miles and its been 2 years and i have 79k miles now on it. over the two years i have done the following by myself:
cold air intake, dc headers, s pipe, megan mid pipe, greddy exhaust, ingalls stiffy tourque damp (headlights, tail lights, stereo as well but that dont count).
i have a spare bare head and block in storage just in case anything goes wrong along the way and so i can build it while still using my car, then do the install work last, and still have stock spares after im done.
just basic bolt ons setting up for a more in depth build. My end result is to have done head work (bigger valves, BC stage 3 cams, springs/retainers, etc) and get the bottom end rebuilt as well with the bc stroker kit (rods, rings, pistons, crank, bearings, etc) and i assume i will have to get the block either sleeved or something done to it (this is where my experience is lacking). I do not plan on going turbo. i know its prolly cheaper and easier, but that isnt me. im just gonna go 11:1 compression with all the above and leave it at that. i like the idea of having it all motor, period. however, that is way in the future and of course could change a bit.
at the moment im in school and do not have the time or money to spend the several thousands of dollars that would take.
i have been toyin with the idea of getting the stage 2 BC cams next and then getting it tuned/dynoed and be done with it. this would be cheaper and i would be satisfied with this for quite some time while i save my money and finish school. the stage 2 cams do not require head work such as new springs/retainers etc, and i could just swap them with the stock cams with some work and help from my buddy.
unfortunately my friends are knowledgeble in honda and others, but not scion/toyota so im turning to yall to see if theres anything i should do before i get the cams in, or any other ideas im just not thinking about that i should do.
i will tell you i am a noob when it comes to anything with the ecu, tuning, fuel management, etc. i know mechanics and a basic idea of what the ecu does, but nothing about how to mess with it or when i should do something with it.
any advice is greatly appreciated and if i didnt pre-answer and questions that you may have feel free to ask me!
thanks- jonathan

follow that thread if you haven't yet. He's near the top if not at the top of N/A builds for the tc.

definately been following it sounds like hes done pretty much what ive wanted to do for a while lol. glad someone did it!
and yes i have been thinking about lowering but for me the tc is low enough for now. Louisiana roads are HORRIBLE and lowering it could cause problems in some places i know in my town i have to drive every day, specifically some HUGE train tracks omw to work, so just waiting on that.
looking into some ems systems i think i saw pete was parting with his megasquirt 3.0. i know nothing about that ima have to do some serious research.
