Default No "noise" with CAI?

Alright, might be a dumb question. Might not be, but i have a raceland intake on my car and have had it on for about 4k miles. I have noticed though, it doesn't make a single noise or anything while accelerating or anything. Not a single noise. Once in a while it will whistle very lightly, but thats about it. Is something wrong with it? Or is this normal? It seems my friends with CAI in their other cars (RSX-S, Evo's, Subbies etc) all make some sort of noise.

I have been thinking about turning it into a RAI as well for the sole fact that i might pull my fender liners during the summer to go lower and having the CAI in there without fender liners scares the hell out of me.

Thoughts?

Yea thats kinda odd i have a raceland cai, the red one, with the intake that came with it as well and mine is pretty silent while idling and low rpm's but once i get it up to about the 3k or 3.5k range i can here it from there up. I have been thinking of either going sri with that raceland by just getting rid of the bottom part or maybe just getting an AEM or Injen air filter as well.

Ya, like it doesn't make ANY noise at all. (running the raceland filter as well) maybe a slight whistle when i am in like 3rd gear at low RPM and get on it quick. And even then, i can only hear it with my windows down... Helpppp

you sure you dont have a leak in the intake somewhere? it doesnt necessarily make super loud noises...its not like an exhaust or anything.

I had an Injen and when was NA and I really didn't notice any crazy change in the car sound. Friends said that from outside the car it was noticeable but whatever
If you set it up short ram it is supposedly louder so you could try that

I have an Injen SRI, I can't hear a difference in engine noise over the exhaust but it whistles from 2500-3000 RPM. Try switching to SRI, it should be louder.

Ya, with a SRI i should be able to hear it more. Even with a CAI there should be a "sucking" noise... At least there was on my SRT-4. Here is a video of the car from a few minutes ago. You can barely hear the CAI

i dont know if you guys are expecting a huge sound change or something, but the sound is not going to be that drastic of a change. I have ran the injen CAI as well as the ram air.

Ram air is a bit louder but not by much. the only time mine is even close to noticeable is above 3k rpm

Lol absolutely nothing is wring with your car. Get over it and enjoy how shiny the piping is under your hood. That's all I ever enjoyed mine for.
