No Powersteering Help
So i took off my power steering pulley and put a smaller belt on my car and the belt is fine but when i start it it squeaks for a bit then it doesnt after warm up so will it hurt the car if i dont have the pump on and have a smaller belt?
well its hard to say how much additional stress its putting on the part...if the belt is smaller than stock...I wouldnt recommend leaving it on there. The reason it "squeaks" at start up but not afterwards is because of the rubber's natural property of expanding slightly when its warm...and contracts when cold.

only if the tension is the same as stock...but again...I don't think it's very wise to run belt on a car it wasnt meant for. Generally bad things can happen using the wrong parts.
