I thought the K&N Typhoon was a short ram intake that has a heat shield. I checked their website and found this.

The one you're referring to is the 05-06 K&N typhoons I believe. I'm not sure though.

I have the weapon R SRI and it's been fine. I slapped it on, didn't even need to reset anything. I just let it idle for 5 minutes, then drove it pretty conservatively for a day.

You are correct sir, but my friend actually has that intake on his car, and since it utilizes the stock MAF location and portions of the box, it also fits just fine for 07s and up.

Just disassembled my AEM cold air intake, want nothing to do with it anymore. If anybody here would be interested in one, feel free to PM me or look for my FS ad in a few days.

Hm... you're right. I just looked into this further and noticed that the K&N Typhoon 05-06 would work for the 07-10 as well. You think K&N would have fixed that on their website.

But if you want, I'd give the weapon r SRI a shot. It was designed to not throw CELs. So that may suite your needs. It nice and quiet until about 3k rpm which is where you start to notice it.
