Default Noobie Question(I Searched)

OK guys after searching for the last couple of days and wading through geez about 100 posts I still came up empty.Ok, Im not trying to race my car neither on the streets nor on the track, just not interested in that part of the car world. All im concerned about is making my car look and sound very nice. Now I know im limited to sound since I drive a 4 banger and not a V8,but if anyone would be kind enough to give me some advice on the sound aspect that would be great.Im looking for a very deep growl but I dont want to have to wake my neighbors at night.I just cant stand hearing cars that sound like a weed-eater!!!I understand our S-pipe sucks so I would like to replace that.Ive researched the Umnitzas Intake and that sounds the best from my point of view.Again Im not too interested with adding much performance although I dont want to hurt my performance AT ALL and I would like to be legal since I have to get my car inspected once a year.SO heres my idea and any input would be great.Im concidering getting the Umnitzas Intake and probably the Draxas Full Exhaust plus S-pipe,resonator and hi-flow cat.Im not considering any headers since any ive heard produce rasp and Im not interested in that although I understand our stock manifold sucks but i can live with that.OK sorry about gabbing so much but I really need some help. Thanks in advance

For what you want... the setup you are going for will suit you just fine.... I'd go Injen CAI over the Umnitza setup, but that's just preference on look and dynos.... go basic and not over the top and you'll get a clean look going, which is always nice... you can always PM me about anything I've done...

I love my sound, but it may not be as deep as you want.... check out the official PrecisionMuffler.com axleback sound clip thread and you'll be able to hear what my ride sounds like..

Forst off, stay away from a header, though you seem to not be interested in that so thats easy.

If you want sound, either the Draxas or Creative Compacts full exhausts are great options. They both sound pretty much the same. Make sure you include a High-Flo Cat to stay legal. For the CC, get the Borla muffler, best sound, deep for a 4-banger. You can also get the TRD cat-back, sound great too. As for a resonator, it will drop sound level a bit and reduce rasp if you have a header. But the car isnt really that loud without a header, it's just right in my opinion.

Intake, any of them will add some noise so you really can't go wrong in that area.

S-pipe, doesnt do much for sound, so I don't really think its necissary if youre not worried about power.

Personally I owned the CC full exhaust with a Hi-Flo Cat (helps keep some backpressure for low end power) and Borla muffler, K&N cold air intake. Car sounded beautifull, the tC's 2.4l sounded very muscular with this setup, got lots of compliments. I since have added aMMW header/spipe and sound was awfull untill a resonator was put in.

Magnaflow catback -

It's not a bolt on though. It requires a cut and a weld. It's 100% legal.

i have the trd axel back and the injen cia and i think it sounds pretty hot. it wont wake up your neighbors but you can definitely hear it. if you want a sound clip i can post one up in the morning or after work. if not trd then id say draxas is another good choice. and for the intake id say injen all the way youll love it

Thanks to everyone who helped out..I aspecially liked the comment about the melon shooter haha. But seriously I'll do a little more research on the differences of the Umnitza and the Injen CAI but Ive heard that in rain the Injen will damage my car,is that true or a myth?I like the Magnaflow system,CC system, and Draxas, I just have to compare them all and figure out which ones the best for my taste.THanks again guys!!!

the water thing about the injen is possible but only if you basically drive your car off a dock into the ocean other then that your fine.

How long have you had your Injen?and would you happen to have a soundclip of your whole setup?

ALso I have another question for you guys.Say I get the Umnitzas Intake,Alphawerks Header, and Draxas Full Exhaust with S-pipe.Do yall think I would have rasp and if I do I could just add a resonator and eventually add a o2 simulator to fix the CEL?

Well if you want to stay legal, a header isn't an option.
