The mass air meter is a big money item,I don't want to touch that.

When the weather comes above freezing il get NGK plugs.

New air filter and see if that helps.
Then il try a injector cleaner .

Basic maintenance first.
I will post here when I change them.

Thanks again.

big money? it's the same as taking the plugs out, actually easier. spray it down, let dry, reinstall. Told ya what would cause your idle problems because i've already had them and that's how it fixed it for me. The MAF sensor gets filthy with carbon blow by, its a fact. but hey it's your car good luck.

Wow,don't get an attitude.

There are other things that I will do first,as I'm not comfortable touching the air meter. ... Simple as that.

And yes,it is my car, very good.

Its a "big money" item since its expensive to replace. And I wouldn't personally trust "MAF Cleaners" from parts stores. I don't blame him for not touching the MAF. Plus at 28K miles his maf shouldn't be dirty, especially with a working air filter on a stock car.

yeah last time i checked, maf was $120 and an 02 was $105 *that's genuine toyota* unless you get some chinese knock-off from ebay then it's much cheaper. but hey everyone else HAS had MAF sensor cleaner from a well-known company, CRC and that brand has cleaned many dirty MAF sensors on this forum safely, maybe you should do a search? And yes they're dirty way before 28k miles and affecting idle, again, search is your friend. and btw the information is right there on this forum, up to you to believe the rest of us. im done with this thread. so flame away, won't get a response. peace!

You're the only one flaming. Don't take this car too seriously.

Ok ... Car has a full tank of 93 oct. Gas. ... I do that some times, nows a good time.

I unhooked battery waited 20 mins and then connected it again.
Reset the windows.
Checked the gas cap.

Started the car. .... Car was hot but it sat for 20 mins .

Car idle was smooth as glass but il know after it's driven later.

ALSO,my gas cap is loose sometimes when I fill up.... The plastic rope that holds it to the car is tugging on it like it may be pulling it open so I disconnected the rope that holds the cap.

Just sitting in the driveway semi warm it has a very nice smooth idle, stay tuned.

93 octane will do nothing for your car, even the "once and awhile" deal. I wouldn't waste my money on it.

I would spend money on "seafoam", run it through a tank of gas, and possibly do some through your intake vacuum line.

Cars fine now ! .... Computer was reset and it idles nice.

Most likely the gas cap causing a bad idle.

Had to reset the roof, windows, and stereo.that was annoying part but car seems fine at a stop light. Drove it about 50 miles today.
