Official PrecisionMuffler.com AxleBack Thread.... With Sound
The Following Pictures and Sounds are of the PrecisionMuffler.com Axleback Exhaust for the tC.
My Car is equipped with an Injen CAI and Megan Racing Headers, so the idea of rasp concerned me greatly...
I'm happy to see no rasp from this header/exhaust combination, and will answer any questions you have...
Here's a good High Quality Vid/Sound Clip of the original Axleback!

If I could get a dyno sponsored around Portland... I'd do it... but I'm broke for Christmas.... I can sure feel the gains.... once that restrictive stock exhaust went bye-bye...

question, i thought only the cat back exhaust produces the non-rasp sound. ANywayz, I thought the axle back doesnt give any hp at all? How about the cat back exhaust then? does it produce good deep tone with no rasp too? I really need to know, anyone?

I run the axleback and the video speaks for itself....
The Catback may give you more HP, if you have more modifications... but a semi-stock motor... it may actually not help much more at all, for the difference in price and legality... Check this pic to see WHY even an axle-back will be WAY better than the stock exhaust.... it's all about FLOW... The PM axle got an extra 4 WHP with the Monster Motorworks car on their dyno...
Your Stock tC Exhaust.... Note the flap! and the 4 chambers!

so the PM axle back has proven to produce no rasping sound with megan or DC header? I got TRD and now i'm just trying to find a header that can produce non-rasp sound, do you think a down pipe will help? what is a s pipe anyway?

They ran the MM race header and got little to no rasp... the above clips are of my tC with the Injen CAI/ Megan Racing Header/PM Axleback and you can hear it clearly... no rasp.
The other headers won't produce that differently of a sound... I'd bet on the same result with any of the other popular header solutions.

Darn it... totally spaced that.... I'll work on that angle.... best thing I guess to do is to get some decent camera phone shots before heading into the office...

No worries...It just looks like the tip is really big in the photos you posted. On their website it looks smaller. I just wanted to see it to scale. Especially how it fills out the exhaust tip area with the OEM body kit.

axle.... and the tip is about the same size.... just fits a little lower down than the stock tip... But that could also be adjusted as well... I was just too lazy.
