P0335 Code After Underdrive Pulley Install....
Just finished putting my NST underdrive pulley on....got in the car started it up and got a P0335 CEL Code (Crankshaft Position Sensor ”A” Circuit Malfunction)
....Car seeeeeeeems to be running normal, why would this code pop up after this install - I did everything correctly as far as I know...What could have gone wrong or what would this change have to do with this code...
Car has been idling for 15 min + and no changes
I'M SCARED....

No.....Not yet ---- Would it be from mounting the pulley in correctly or something if it's not straight or something? (cuz i made sure it was flush and the keyhole was lined up)

sorry taht took me so long.
and for wondering if it's not on right, if you reset the ecu, and the light comes back on, then you know you actually have soemthing wrong

As long as it was lined up and in there good, I don't think that would be a problem.
Only a couple results came up in the search and half were from boosted people running F/IC - so didn't apply to you.
It's possibly the sensor could be coincidentally bad. I believe they're pretty cheap actually. I think the one for my g/f's 04 Neon was under $20 or just over that price. And took about 15 min to swap. Can't imagine the tC is much more difficult.

Make sure to check sensor wires, belts etc.... It isnt common but Ive searched on google and found that even timing belts can throw a P0335 code. The most common issue I saw was a sensor that might be dirty and usually isnt broken. I dont really know... If you cant figure it out ill ask my bestfriend, hes a Mechanic. Good luck

Just went out and reconneted the battery and the light then turned off and no code was read....Still is very interesting to me how messing with just "hardware" like this threw a sensor code...but whatever it is gone now (I even drove it around a bit and everything seems fine *knock on wood*)
....In other news as I was putting my tire back on the car I noticed this
Looks like it's time for new tires....Any suggestions?

My god dude, lucky you didnt get a blow out.... Thats nuts. Get anything other then Wanli or Sunny Tires. Worst tires and money Ive ever spent in my life. Crappy Chinese tires with some fake compound, ewww. I like yoko and pirellis.

Yea....I didn't even feel it driving and I'm SOOOO glad I caught it before it got worse (on the road)
I was looking at Kumho Ecsta ASX. I heard they are great for the money and not crappy quality - I'm looking for some good All Seasons for the money right now (can't afford to have winter/summer tire sets at this time) and I live in Chicago with snow n such....

about the code:
i had the same thing happen to me saturday on my way to the show. I bottomed out a little bit when I dropped off a fricken cliff on the highway (construction) and my CEL came on.
went to autozone to get it read, answer I got
"are you sure your light came on? I'm not getting anything"
so i disconnected/reset ecu and it went away.
he said sometimes there are just glitches.
oh well. gald you got it fixed. and let us know how the pulley goes, I've been thinking about getting one

it is possible the CPS was loose when you took off the belt and hit it just a littel,I am assuming you did not unhook m=batery so it may of goten a glitch in it and set off the code.......drvie it for a few days and if code comes back you need to replace sensor.......also get new tires before you wreck your car.......those are dangerous........
