Default the perfect underdrive crank pulley?

I dont know if you guys have ever heard about the underdrive pulleys made by fluiampr (correct spelling) but they say that you no longer have to worry about removing your harmonic balancer. The website is www.fluidampr.com Right now the only one they have for toyota is for the 2JZ I-6 engine. But check it out and see what you guys think. Maybe there is one in the making for the scion. Who knows, but I thought I would bring it to everyones attention if you allready didnt know about it.

If that is true, then why do they put a damper on the crank pulley?

I would buy a lighter pulley if it had a damper built in.

This one does have some sort of damper built into it. I just changed the website name, i forgot to add the d in fluid.... its what i get for posting at midnight. But go to their website and check it out cause this seems to solve all our problems.

I have allready checked with them, and right now they don't have any plans to make one for our cars. I do think that if more people contacted them and let them know that there is a market they may start working on one.

Just for quick reference, here is what a quick google search did for me on fluidamper pulleys

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...1061&langId=-1

$350 for a pulley?!!! And did you look at those underdrive figures? Do you really want to underdrive your A/C, alternator, and power steering by 35% to 40%?

I asked the guys at NST at one time if they would be willing to make pulleys like these for us, and the answer I got was not surprizing, "Yes, we are capable of building these units, but we do not like having to charge our customers $300 for a crank pulley!"

People are always going to complain about the lack of a little piece of rubber.... while the masses who have actually used solid pulleys swear by them.

Bingo, used solid pulleys in race applications for years, never had an issue. Even on motors that turn 4K more rpm than the 2az. Gotta love how internet bs spreads into every new tuners mind. Oh man without that rubber my engine is going to throw a rod, my crank eat it's bearings and my battery will go dead! Simple fact is they work flawless especially on an engine that uses balance shafts like the 2az.

Get the NST then glue a rubber o-ring to it. This should give you harmonious power. If you want it to be damper just spray alittle water on it.

Here is a fun note, your belt with hydro tensioner acts like a harmonic balancer hahaha
