Maybe someone has the results w/ the aem intake as well. i am considering these options as i buy my TC and was wondering if you guys had input. from what I heard around here the TRD exhaust is just show......I'd wait until some other company came out with a a true cat-back exhaust system...my .02.

the trd exhaust isn't worth the money. borla has a cat-back for the tc. borla makes some of the nicest exhausts out there, they sound nice, not all ricey. it goes for 500 something

probably a 4-5hp gain at the crank, which negates to nothing at the wheels

I have the TRD exhaust and I like it, sounds great, a bit too loud, but not poppy or farty, it's throaty, sounds way better inside the cabin than outside (too loud for my taste) but I hear ricer exhausts all day long outside my work, so I'm glad it doesn't sound like some geo metro or a civic

if I could go back and do it all over again I wouldn't have pre-ordered my car with the TRD exhaust (car came in early with options installed at port, was looking at better exhausts and I pre-ordered it with taking it off pre-order if I found better, but it came with it, so oh well)

I could always sell it used later when I find a better exhaust, www.precisionmuffler.com has a really nice catback I'd want to get, and there are a lot coming out later, probably get an exhaust with power whenever the TRD supercharger comes out, along with an intake and header.

EDIT: I'm almost 100% positive the TRD exhaust is made by Borla, and it's an axelback, almost every axelback won't give any noticeable power gains

Don't get the TRD exhaust if you plan on getting headers unless you want that loud ricey sound. Here the video:

Yes, the TRD exhaust is made by Borla for TRD. And yes, that is also true about axleback exhausts. I got mine because I loved how it sounded and it was the only option at the time of my purchase. I'm really happy I got it, though. If you want true performance gains, get a catback.

Default trd exhaust

Sounds nice.
Don't really feel the gains subjectively.
Will dyno soon to see my 0-60 and hp.

The TRD does not gain anything. Take a look at the Sport Compact Car that reviewed the tC. It had the AEM CAI and the TRD exhaust.

The car dynoed 142whp and 151wftlbs. We all know that with an intake this car dynoed around 10whp over stock and a little bit of torque added also. So that right there is somewhat proof that the TRD is just for looks and noise. Sounds great might I add.

I have the borla cat back on my 03 corolla and i love it. I have had a magnaflow, and a flowmaster, none of them compare the the quility of borla.
