Default Porting heads worth it?

Well im going to get some pistons, but im wondering if I should port the heads at the same time, I've been told that the scion head is pretty clean and there isnt much to port or polish up, I would just do a gasket match so just wondering if some of you guys who have done it think it is worth it? I'm also porting and halfshafting the TB

you will definitely see gains from P&P. Even more if you go FI With P&P heads. Expensive to do but if you want every ounce of power sucked out of your motor, that is one of the things that need to be done.

Yes it is worth it. I would do the gasket match port and polish any casting blemishes. Don't expect to see a huge gain but, any bit helps.

well I have a friend that runs a machine shop i can get it gasket matched and polished up for 350 bucks, so Im going to do that .20 over pistons, P&P and halfshaft TB, tune the car and maybe up the nitrous shot. This summer is going to be fun

You could match port the intake & exhaust ports (& their gaskets) yourself for no cost, just a little time & effort. This could also be done with the head still on the block, in case it's not being removed for the piston swap, as it's not required.

yeah if I had an extra head I would do it myself but since this is my DD id feel more comfortable having someone else do it, since ive only ported heads one other time

do NOT mess with that throttle body unless you know what youre doing. when my motor was blown we had some down time so we PnP, half shafted, and knifed the butterfly. needless to say, not a good idea. while we were porting metal shavings got down into the electric motor cooling duct and fried it. the TPS was also efffffed because it was tampered with. i got a USED tb for $180. just be careful. ha

Wise man say, it is better to grind metal outside of engine bay, than put shavings in one's engine.
