Default Possible A/T issue? ***UPDATE pg.2***

Ok, after I added my header and s-pipe about 2 weekends ago I noticed something strange with my A/T. Never noticed it before on any other cars or my tC til after it but this is what its doing. If I just barely touch depress the gas a little while its moving the revs climb like 4-5 hundred and then drop back down to where they are suppose to be. If I accellerate and it goes down a gear, when I let off the gas it will drop rpms down to where they should be and shift up to like 4th, and then after it shifts they rpms dip below 1k for some reason and then pop right back up again. Here's is a scenario, numbers are not entirely accurate:

Say I'm doing 40mph, I go to floor it to pass someone, car shifts down to 3rd, revs climb up to the 5ks, I let off the gas, revs fall to about 2.5k, car shifts to back to 4th, right after shift revs dip to below 1k and come right back up to 2.5k as if nothing happened and they are right where they are suppose to be. I also noticed that sometimes when I'm slowing down, if it is not quick enough that it will like "stick" in the gear and the engine feels like its bogging down and then it'll shift down a gear and be just fine. Like slowing down, should shift from 3rd to 2nd, but it holds 3rd, engine starts feeling weird like its trying to push or do something weird, then it shifts to 2nd, and so on...

Its beginning to freak me out now that I noticed it doing that, would it be better for me to post a vid. clip on youtube of it doing that for you guys to help me out? The bogging down while slowing down is really hard to duplicate because it happens really randomly, the other issue happens like all the time now it seems, since I noticed it anyway. I don't abuse the car that much really, I've taken up past 115 a few times as I've stated in other post, hit the speed limiter once, however while playing around I have had it hit the rev limiter once in 1st and like 2 times in 2nd. Not too much a big deal to me, but it may play a factor in it? I'm hoping this isn't a major issue so if anyone has some positive feed back that would be great and I'll be working on a youtube clip to post up tomorrow to help you guys see what I'm talking about. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Ok guys, needing some help...either telling me I'm just paranoid or telling me there is def. something wrong with my tranny. Pls watch this clip I made http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzjAFbSpizY and tell me what you think. Open to all suggestions. Any auto tranny guys out there, pls see if yours does this and if it does or doesn't let me know. Thanks!

Lol, i hope its just my mind playing with me...just don't want my tranny to croak on me you know? Want to make sure its not a slippage or some internal part locking up and releasing wrong. Or a torque converter going bad, which I have not researched symptoms of yet but heard they are expensive to repair. So your tranny does the same thing? All the dipping and weird 400 rev climb, 200 rev drop when you barely touch the gas?

nah, its not the cruise, my cruise control is on like 24/7 when the car is running b/c I always use it. However it was not engaged at all during any parts for the videos since I was constantly braking to slow the car down to do it again to get a few clips of variety...so it kicks it off automatically. Still on the fence of what to do about it. Got one saying its fine, one that thinks its fine but should take it in if it eases my mind, and then one that thinks I should take it in anyway. Thing is, I dont want to put all those stock parts back on so they dont claim that race my engine b/c of the mods since it is not true at all. I do drive spiritly but that is nto the same as abusing the tranny racing with it. And they can easily claim my mods are what caused the problem, if there is one, due to the racing aspect of it, so I'm kinda on the fence of what to do...

Awesome, thx man! Def. check it out for me, get your car up to like 40mph hold it steady there, then floor it til about 6k then let completely off the gas and see if it shifts back to fourth at about 3.5k and dips like mine does. I yours does cause that would mean nothing is wrong with mine

i've never, ever seen anything like that on an AT car... i'd say take it to the dealer and see what they have to say about it... only problem is your mods might void any warranty you had.

Not if they didn't cause it though...like I've told some people, my car has never seen a dragstrip in its life yet. I got the mods just to have some fun with it. Drive spiritly, faster than a daily driver but don't flat out race it. It's only been in one "street race" if you want to call it that when a buddy of mine wanted to see what it could do from a roll against his G6 rental car. Other than that she's just driven normally. Think I should put it back to stock, at least the header, and take it in? I'm not like some the kids that abuse the crap out their cars all the time.

yeah i know what you mean... and yes you should at the very least put the header back to stock... heck i'd even put the intake piping back to stock, but w/e. who knows, maybe you have a cool dealer. the only thing you might run into when you say that you don't race or drive hard a lot is them asking you to, and i quote, "prove it." and then you say... prove to me that an extra measly 10whp caused my perfectly good tranny to die. but w/e, maybe your tranny is a-ok, i've just never seen anything like that before and if it were my car, it'd be at the dealership.

Yeah I def. want to take it to a dealer to have it checked out and ease my mind, have a friend on here that lives in Vegas, he's going to see if one of his friends that works at a Scion dealer can hook me up with an unbiased inspection so i don't have to take the header off. I know my dealership will take one look and be like you race your car thats it. So i'm hoping this other guy can get his dealership to look at it without any issues. I've even thought about going to a dealership to test drive one and see if it does that one does it.

my automatic did the same thing
i wouldnt worry about anything
for some reason, this automatic tranny is supposed to be very smart and do lots of things on its own, even though they may seem weird.

but yea like i said, mine did the same thing, had almost 20k miles on it and never ever had a problem. transmission felt golden like the day i drove it off the lot.
