You would be doing the Scion community a wonderful service, especially if you followed some sort of standard for the dyno testing. Meaning, stabilizing intake temperatures after each pull, throwing out the lowest and highest run for each test, averaging the rest, SAE correction, hood open w/ fan, and so on. Procedures that help make the results comparable an as accurate as possible. As for what headers I would like to see tested:

Alphawerks
Monstor Motor Works
Megan (w/ Cat, w/o Cat)
Strup
Draxas
DC Sports

Some of those aren't released yet, but I don’t know when you're doing your testing so I included them anyway. It would be nice to test a few intakes as well, such as:

Injen (CAI, and SRI setup)
K&N
Weapon R (w/o cold air box, w/ cold air box, w/ ram air kit)
Umnitza
Alphawerks
TRD/K&N drop in filter

Now, if you were going to test header-back exhaust too... hehe, ok, I'll stop. ^_^

perfect - that was the information that i was looking for - we plan on doing a lot of testing with this car - an intake test is planned as well so we will put together some ideas and get something going quickly

It would also be nice to know how they affect the exhaust sound. Like how raspy they sound.

Very true. Unfortunately there's no "rasp scale" and everyone has a slightly different opinion on what sounds good. Plus, videos don't always do exhausts justice.

Not sure about you, but when some person I don't know says via an internet message board "trust me it sounds amazing" I'm not going for it.

anyone interested in seeing the results of a test like this?

anyone have any headers in particular that would like to see the results of?

we would be doing the testing on our scion tC with an intake and axle back exhaust installed only - this would represent the majority of the scion tC owners and what modifications that they have done to their vehicles

any input would be appreciated

Sounds great, i believe i speak for all of us when i say "finally"someone actually taking their time to do an individual Dyno and assesment of performance parts. Im shocked this hasent happened sooner. Best of luck we will be here for ya.

Just recently had my car dynoed with a friend of mine.....now his is stock and mine just has the Injen (SRI setup right now) and here were our results:

Mine: 132 whp

His: 131.7whp

NEEDLESS to say i was pretty ____ed and figuring that i need an exhaust to help the air flow out??!!
I would be very interested to see what you get on the dynos with just an intake!!!

I'm getting off topic, but comparing dyno's between different cars (even of the same type on the same dyno) probably won't give you an accurate look at the difference your modifications have made. There are too many unaccounted for variables that make comparing your power to his sketchy an inaccurate at best. For example, if you're on a dyno that uses rollers moved by the wheels, differences in tire pressure will skew the results. Just tying the vehicles down differently will skew the results. Temperatures my not have been stabilized in between runs, your car may have been hotter, and so on. Chassis dynos should really only be used for tuning and tracking gains/losses on the same car, from modification to modification, IMO. So, I wouldn’t be too discouraged about those results especially if you don't have a baseline of your own to compare it too.

Thrawn...very well put and i definately agree. I have been hearing alot of that lately. I kind of wish that i had a stock chart to compare as well. But my friend is going to get a CAI soon too and i told him to get it dynoed after so i have an idea!!! Thanks

Here are some references, http://www.clubsciontc.com/modules.p...ewtopic&t=2511

My dyno is at the bottom. Im surprised at the low numbers i drive an Automatic and the best i got was 142hp 145tq at the 3rd pull couldnt get that scanned. It was also hot as hell that day 96 degrees. Injen short ram and Alphawerks header where my only mods. I think certain variables where off , or the operator didnt know how to use the dyno. So dont worry about the low numbers, dyno it elsewhere FSU1DOLFAN. I live in miami if you want to go to a good dyno pm me ill let you know.

I'm interested in a dyno result of CAI + Header + Stock Exhaust vs CAI + Header + S-Pipe + Stock Exhaust.

Yes, I'm definitely looking forward to it as well. Like I said earlier, a wonderful contribution to the tC community, and greatly appreciated. There is something I just thought of, though. The Monster Motor Works header comes with its own s-pipe. If possible, it would be nice if the other headers were tested with an s-pipe as well, such as ZPIs, Draxas', or Creative Compacts. Those s-pipes should all be universal and mate to any header. I think in doing that, the results would be more directly comparable. But even without the s-pipe, it should be pretty clear what offers the best gains and where on the powerband.

I'm interested in a dyno run, if you want to set up a dyno day or something, PM me or something. Sooner is better!
