"power hungry"? hahaha give me a break
Compare apples to apples man. If you want a new car, look for a new car and compare new cars. If you want an older performance car then compare it to older performance cars. Do not compare a new budget nice coupe that has ok performance to a sports car from 3-5 years ago that cost allot more money. We did not buy our tc's to race them, we bought them for the bang for the buck ratio and it just happens that this car can be tuned very very easily and be tuned to perform with cars costing $5-$10K more.

Think he misunderstood the whole power hungry forum topic. We are simply people who love the tc but would like more performance out of it, We did not buy them as race cars or as a sports car. But for the price being a new car they rock!
^^^^ Yeah. Any monkey can go find a used "sports" car for like $5,000 , drop $10,000 into it and get a really fast car, but who cares? People don't buy Scions because they are the best or the fastest cars on the planet. They buy them because they like the style, the affordability, the features, and the Scion community. We are all members here because we all like Scions for what they are - great cars. If you want to drop your $17,000 on a used S2000 or RSX type S (that I would NEVER buy used because you KNOW that car has been beat to crap by the previous owner) thats fine. We don't ( or didn't) want to.
Just my $.02
Just my $.02
Just rec'd my Xb on Friday -- performance is great! Granted, I moved up from a diesel pickup, but if I can pass , on a hill, steadily accelerating from 60 to 85, I think the rig has plenty of power!!
Besides, if all scion owners wanted pure performance, they'd probably buy a Porsche!
Horsepower isn't always the right answer; practicality and usefulness is more important -- those who pursue the highest horsepower seem to always be surprised when a box can match a corvette on curvy roads!

"I'm not talking about new cars! I'm saying that if this was your price range you should have bought one of these if you were really into performance! Since when is a 3 or 4 year-old car considered "beat up"? You know you can't argue with the facts so you have to say crap like that."
There's his jabber translated into proper english.
hey magnus thanx for taking the time to fix my typing. incase u havnt noticed, most ppl type like that on the internet.
i live in GA as well, and i would love to meet up and own u with my "beat up" 03 car that costs the same as ur tc.

I will speak for the xb/xa:
Just because we don't put down high numbers does not mean we can't be fast cars. For a four door car, we are very light on our feet. Lighter than almost all two door cars made currently. (not all, but a good deal of them) All we really need is 120-140whp to become very quick. Not to mention, with road courses and autoxcross, you don't need high numbers to win good times. With the right suspension set up, and just enough power to get moving fairly quick anything is possible with the right driver. I mean common, posting this thread is just asking for a fight. Its pretty pointless.
All car forums have their enthu. , even geo and kia has some decent modded cars. A geo metro with a good suspension set up with a 1.3 turbo swap is all it needs to put down reasonable track times. Not saying im going to drive a geo, but, a car that weighs 1,900lbs with 120whp is a pretty good power to weight.
At any rate, back to "topic" Pointless. We all know the scion brand has no sports car. Then again, theres only a hand full of cars under $30K that have true performance from the factory. So, your point is? What exactly...
