Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and just bought a tC about 8 months ago and I've started my own mods
I was wondering which pulley would be the best (brand & type) for my car (2010) I've heard read a lot about nst pulley's, what ya think?

Stay away from crank pulleys. Some people say they shorten the life of your engine, others say they free up power. Regardless, I would say the work to put one on compared to the risks of shortening engine life for a little power isn't worth it, just my 2 cents
I've always advised against pulley's for the already stated reasoning. There are other mods for same/slightly more cash that will gain you more and be less of a headache. Plus, if you read around you'll see if you really do want a pulley, which want to get.
NonStopTuning.com sells good quality pulleys.
Their crank pulley drops the weight from the OEM 59oz to 14oz, which helps with acceleration and a few extra hp... 8 if your lucky.
Now as far as shortening engine life or not.... yet to be proven 100%, the 2AZ-FE is a mass produced eco-minded engine so there are many flaws waiting to kill your engine over time.
Note: both NST and Dezod (Dan Gardner) use lighterweight pulleys in their race cars.

Bit what for? Hate to break it to you.but you wont see much in the way of gains with anything other than an engine build and/or turbo. Ifyou are looking for fun to drive try tightening up the suspension a bit..you would be surprised at the difference it makes.
With most the bolt ons you can do for this car, you'll barely be able to truly notice it. You can add an intake for better throttle response, catback for a louder and better flowing exhaust. Unless you're willing to sink money in, you won't gain much.
(I'll wait for people to chime in about the 2-3 known scions with all bolt on's making 200ish.)

Bolt ons plus tune and built motors are making 200hp but that is a lot of work.
I had intake, header, axle bac, and pulleys on my tC and started to regret it after awhile..the more I thought about it the more I felt I wasted my money on very minimal.performance gains.

spicy: I will throw in on this I have an CAI, s pipe and s pipe back exhaust into a tunabe medallion touring axleback and a lightened crank pulley I can be rolling at 20 mph and break the front tires loose. Just by stomping on it. Dyno proven on a Dynapak system 197.8 hp at the wheels 212.6 torque
I broke loose my 19's in 2nd all the time and I only had a catback and intake and for sometime a header. And even so, while a dyno is saying this car can make near wards of 200 hp, it's still a slow car down the strip. It's also been proven that the pulley doesn't make any hp, just creates less of a rotating weight on the front of the motor. Which does anyone realize why the crank pulley is so heavy? Because it acts as a harmonic balancer.
Breaking tires loose in any gear depends more on the tires grip then the power driving them...
As far as building your car, if you don't want to reduce engine longevity but increase the 'fun' factor; then suspension is a good start, also look into weight reduction. We have a heavy car, losing 200-300lbs in a car can be noticeable.
Faster cars come through higher power or lower weight. Exercising vehicular weight management is part of what makes Lotus cars, performance cars... even with such small engines compared to Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, etc...

My race car budget is very limited. I fabricate what I feel qualified to do. Anything more, and I take it to my favorite local dealer, or local brick and mortar shop. I like to give my money to a face.
I've fabbed, an intake (no CEL), removed the muffler(a lot of weight, and sounds better than you think), made a short shifter out of a spare stocker.
It's very expensive to make the car go faster, but it's fairly easy to make it corner amazingly.

Awesome input and ideas! "Soccerboy" when i bought the car the dealership already lowered it w/ a trd kit, trd exhaust, among other mods. I've thought about putting a cai into it, but I've gotten a lot of mixed results saying that it doesn't improve anything, while others swear by it. As far as the rear sway bar, that would help a little with the cornering right? Kinda the same thing for a front sway too?
My ebay header works great, and only cost me $125 to my door. I have a HUGE thread on it.
Read it, get one, and save some $$ for other mods like swaybars, which make an enormous difference :D.
