Default Pullies....no good?

Do aftermarket pully sets throw off the harmonic balance of your motor. Do they tend to be bad for the motor itself? I have heard of many pulley problems on other cars but not too sure about the tC?

please advise...

nst is the only company that makes a full set, if you only want a crank pulley i would go with craven speed they are the lightest pulley made

there seems to be no one here that has experienced any engine failure on the forum that has been using the pulleys albiet theories thrown about that your engine will die slowly.

or it could be that anyone that has had something bad happened just doesnt post about it on the forums?

if you're worried about long term damage with an underdriven pulley, just get a lightweight pulley instead. same size as stock, just lighter. Agency Power and Craven Speed makes them..

well the thing is, from what Ive read on the forums even though its stock size, it still can screw up the engine because it doesnt have that rubber damper or something?

Get the NST pulleys ... all 3 of them to complete the set ... and make sure you get the correct serpentine belt

Here is a link of a thread with 30+ pages of actual data posted by real world pulley users. If there were any real negative effects, you should find them here...
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...=pulley+owners
30+ pages, no unhappy NST pulley users.

www.NonStopTuning.com offers the most complete line of pulleys....

NST02020 Underdrive Crank Pulley
NST02148 CR-Lite (OEM Diameter) Crank Pulley
NST02025K Alternator and Water Pump Pulley KIT

^^^ FROM http://www.nonstoptuning.com/pKitToySciTC.htm ^^^

All NST Pulleys are roughly 70% lighter than the OEM pulleys they replace, and the more pulleys you replace, the better your overal performance gains.

Please feel free to look for me on AOL Instant Messenger at the screen name "NSTonAIM" should you have any further questions.

Good luck and have fun with your project!

Harmonic dampening pullies are only for engines that are not internally balanced.

internally balanced engines mount the crank shaft in not only the ends of the crank shaft, but between each connection rod journal. out of the engines that i've seen inside of from toyota, i have yet to find one that ISN'T internally balanced (engines i've seen made by toyota) *1nzfe, 2azfe, 1zzfe, 2zzge, 1jzgtte, 2jzgtte, 3sgte, 3sge, 5sfe*
