I have the by-pass valve on my injen cai.....you won't have to cut anything.....it will fit between the two pipes.....its a little difficult to get on because there is not much play there...space is tight.....i got mine from trdsparks

I bought the AEM bypass valve and tried putting it on my injen. No luck. Pipes need to be shortened. It might depend on what bypass you buy and the size of it though.

For What? You don't need one unless your driving through KNEE high water.

I am actually interested in the by-pass as well, let me know how it fits rcgurl. Living in Miami its a necessity, when it pours you WILL be driving in knee high water...

it fits... i found the best method to get it in if you already had the injen installed in cai is to take off the bolt right below the joint, loosen up the bolt on the engine connection and loosen the bolt on the final bolt down in the tire well. This allows enough play to get the injen band off and get the bypass valve on. It fits w/o mods, but takes alot of shoving and all to get it to fit.
After its on, tighten the tension bands as much as possible, then tighten get the bolt thats below the bypass back on and you will find the that intake is rock solid now and has NO play in it. Just retighten the other two bolts and you're on your way.

BTW for those who say you have to be in knee high water to cause hydro, me and my friend were out in his civic about a year ago in a typical southern downpoor and at a random stop light, his engine cut. No puddles at all around. Costed around 5 grand for a new motor, but he was planning on changing it out anways.

I have one on my Injen CAI. If you want the bypass valve to work properly you will have to cut about a 1/2"-3/4" off of both sides where the coupler goes to convert the intake to short ram.

thats exactly what i had to do....i can agree that the pipes needed to be shorter....but i didnt trust myself cutting the pipes....my luck...i'd screw it up and have to buy a new one....anyway...it fits without cutting and it works for me

it took over 4 hours but i got the bypass onto the cai. it fit into the joint between the short ram and cold air connection, but it was a pain getting it in (a lot of manuevering)! it sounds great though! and i definitely feel a little safer with the bypass! thank you everyone for you advice and i will try to get some pics on here when i can

Thanks for the pics, did you cut the pipe or just stuff it in there?
