When the suspension is tuned too tightly, does a lifted drive wheel cause a lot of havoc on the Quaife? On coil-overs and Hotchkis sways, it seems that two wheeling occurs a lot more than usual.

This is a great thing for everyone in the Tc world no doubt. I'm still talking to Turobnetics about trying to bring one of their Tcs to the ZPI shootout this summer. It will be running a Quaife and possibly some forged internals from well Forged Internals.com and Sharif :D

 

With a gear driven differential, such as the Quiafe, if the inside wheel lifts completely, this will cause the Quiafe to essentially become an open diff. Many FWD race teams use the Quaife, and have not reported any issues with the setup, as any tire lift is a momentary event, and doesnt upset the handling too much.

 

You better hurry up then, cause the ShootOut is this weekend.

 

Oh crap, I thought it was later this year. DAMMIT...I guess we'll have to set something up later...maybe a Tc shootout for a mag... Anyone have a ZPI or Dezod kit in SocaL?

 

They might have another one later...like August or something. Don't know.

 

What about when the lifted tires suddenly hit the ground again? When the tires lift, the LSD throws all the torque into the lifted wheel and when it gains traction again, all of a sudden the torque distributes evenly. Such fluctuations in torque doesn't sound all that great but I guess it's normal and doable?

 

SCCA race teams and privateers have used Quiafe's on both RWD and FWD cars on the track, without any complaints. I havent raced one on a track yet, so I cant give you a first hand experience.
