Question about TRD Intake

Question about TRD Intake
Ok i just got done installing the TRD cold air intake this sunday and i just filled up my tank 2 days ago and i have noticed some differences. Yes, i can tell a difference in the lower gears that it accelerates quicker but when i filled up the tank i wanted to see if it has increased my mpg's. Well i noticed a difference in the mpg's and it is less than what i was gettin before. I have an 09 TC 5-speed and was gettin 30-32mpg everytank and now i am gettin less. I have not been racing around because i wanted to see how much of a difference the intake has made, hoping to see 32+ mpg.
Has anybody else experiences this because from what i have researched you were suppose to see a slight increase in mpg's but i have had the opposite happen?
Should i just reset the ecu and see if i have better luck on the next tank of gas?
Thanks guys

i personally think the "better mpg" thing is a gimmick to get you to spend your money. if pursued, i guess it works in theory. saw an article on time where they took an integra and added intake, catback, pulleys and suck and got better mpg. idk tho man.

I have an AEM cold air intake on my car and I havent see any increase in MPG. Power isn't really a factor either. 4hp to the wheels isnt enough to feel. I also feel the increased MPG they talk about is also a lie.

is it city or highway driving? because that will make a difference. because i have a fujita and get anywhere from 34-36 when on highway driving to shows in chicago or iowa or indy but city is usually in mid 20's

i do about 90% driving on the highway. But every tank i have been gettin 30+ since i bought it in sept and this time i just watched the fuel gauge drop and i was WTF im driving the exact same. so who knows.

It's been cold in North Texas the past couple of days. Your CAI is drawing all that cooler denser air so you'll need more fuel to compensate for that.
Unless you are driving like a granny you aren't going to see your MPG go up with a CAI. You'll see a drop because of the colder air and having the urge to hear the intake noise.

I used to always fall just short of 30 mpg.
As for the OP, the tank that I had when i first installed the intake, the mpg sucked. After i filled up, the mpg went to normal again. i think it's because the ecu is just readjusting and finding idling points and stuff like that.

its very possibly to get over 30mpg... even something like a simple motor oil change and a fresh tank of 87 octane gas will make a difference. of course driving habit plays a big part too.
however, an intake will probably decrease MPG as with most other engine mods. making more HP usually means decrease in MPGs
