so from wat i read it will work if u do it the rite way but all these ppl that try it have headers i don't have headers i'm keepyin my stock one and only changin the s pipe would i still need to do all that work

locondcoco 10-24-2007 03:38 PM

nope, its a straight swap, no anti-fouler needed, and no CEL. i just did mine 2 weeks ago. same downpipe from the same seller.

i had some bit of issues (well, confusion really). so lemme know if you have some ?'s

tcday 10-24-2007 03:51 PM

wat issues did u have

locondcoco 10-24-2007 04:26 PM

not knowing where the gaskets go, bolting in the midpipe side first, hence having trouble bolting the header side....trouble breaking loose the existing bolts....stuff like that.

tcday 10-24-2007 04:28 PM

lol wat side does da gasket go on lol

locondcoco 10-24-2007 04:31 PM

you should receive 3, (2 thinner ones, 1 thick one), all 3 go on the midpipe side. so it should be:

s-pipe- thin gasket-thick gasket-thin gasket-midpipe.

oh, and i also had issues getting that thick gasket onto the end of the spipe past the flange. haha...my pain is your gain!

wat r u runnin under ur car anyways lol i have stock header soon megan spipe stock mid pipe and injen ses axal bak

^ you've got my setup :)

It's smart to spray some penetrating oil on the bolts about 10 minutes before you want to take them off. Unclip the O2 sensor at the harness (you'll need a small standard screwdriver to push a piece of the harness down), and take the whole mess out. Spray the O2 sensor threads with lots of penetrating oil. I found the easiest way to get it out was to put the hex part of the O2 sensor in a vice, and turn the s-pipe like a propeller to get it out.

by da way how does it sound just addin da spipe and keepin stock headers and midpipe and havin an injen exhuast does it sound deep or ricey

monkeysauce 10-24-2007 05:14 PM

I've yet to install the s-pipe with the SES, but I have had it installed with another exhaust. It doesn't make it raspy, just a little louder. The sound is pretty much the same, just more volume.

tcday 10-24-2007 05:15 PM

thank you thats wat i wanted to hear cuz i like how my car sounds nice i really don't want to kill that sound

locondcoco 10-24-2007 05:32 PM

i have the stock header, megan racing downpipe and midpipe, then TRD axleback. and like ^^ said, it sounded about the same, but louder.

tcbyrc 10-24-2007 09:33 PM

Why are you changing the exhaust and not the header. you don't gain any power with just the exhaust, maybe 1 or 2 hp and tq.

tcday 10-24-2007 09:35 PM

well i really not into changin my headers i just wanna changin the piping let sum air out thats it and make sum noise later on i'll change my headers its dat not its a problem the the cel and i don't want that i just got my car and its on 08

NJ does require you to pass emissions...not to mention that adding a header requires an additional couple hundred dollars in resonators and luck to make the exhaust sound good again

tcday 10-25-2007 01:12 PM

lol my car sounds nice now lol i'm just aimmin for a deeper sound like a growl lol but by only changin da under pipes lol no headers
