question on intakes
If the thread is already made, why not just answer the question?
Short Ram: Faster throttle response than cold air, but the air is hotter, since the intake filter is in the engine bay, therefore giving less power (not even enough to talk about).
Cold Air: Not as quick of a throttle response as short ram, but you get, as it is called, cool air. therefore giving more power (again, not enough to even talk about).
Also, a lot of people believe (me included) that cold air is a waist...the piping is hot in your engine bay...by the time it gets to your intake manifold it's about as warm as a short ram.
For the tC they both run about teh same price.

i don't believe that, the air is moving way too fast if anything the air coming from the outside thats rushing in should be cooling down the pipe it runs through.

I have Weapon R SRI and I notice some power loss at full throttle when I have been driving around fro a while.......which I attribute to the hot air getting sucked into it from the bay........
I am pleased with the SRI though......the sound at WOT is beautiful.........the Weapon R comes with tubing to make a CAI flow to it which I am still working on installing before the radiator to get some cooler air into the engine bay.......
Not hooking it to the SRI,just letting it pipe cooler air to it...kinda like old Oldsmoble and Pontiac ram intakes.......let the air in to cool it down a bit.......nothing more...

I know it is somewhat pointless to to waste my time posting this, but I have a few extras seconds before I go take my evening crap.
I would first like to start with - Your an idiot. Not for really asking the question ... no wait ... that is exactly why. There is this little tiny button at the top of the page - its called "Search". A REVOLUTIONARY tool I must say.
All you need to do is type in what it is you're interested in finding out, lets set "cold air vs. short ram", hit 'Search' ... and well FUNK ME ELMO ... it gives you all of the related articles. Amazing, I know.
OK, now for what really actually ____es me off about this post. You are likely already contain the knowledge of what the difference is, and which one will benefit you. Why make this post? It was as if you were like "Well, its Thursday, I have already beat the meat 3 times today ... what else can I do?"
Go ____ in the corner. And be sure to hit your shoes.
FUNK.

look long island ___ot
all i wanted to do is find out other peoples opinion on the topic. i dont know why the hell you would waste your time and type to say that ____ in the first place. if you thought it wasn't worth the time then go take a ____ like you said you would. i dont know why your disrespecting people like that. i hope you tc crashes in a horrible accident and its a big pile up and you have to pay for everyones injuries and you get paralyzed so you will never get to drive agen.
And before you have the chance to answer this question I got it covered. What is the best brand? Well, there are very reputable brands such as AEM, Injen, Fujita and so on. However it doesnt matter. Don't listen to crap from other people. Tubing is tubing. The only difference between the brands is the air filter. So whatever brand you get, or even homemade get a GOOD filter and you can run with any other scion tc's that have a name brand intake...basically lol.
Yeah, but the post was already made, I'd rather just answer his question and be done with it, regardless of whether or not he knows the answer.
Whatever, it's really not a big deal...simple question, simple answer. Leave it be.
