Default question for those running light weight flywheels

I recently upgrade my clutch and flywheel with a ACT kit since I'm turbo. After the install I noticed a small amount of gear noise from the tranny on decel only. Anyone experience this? Trans is mechanically sound and has no issues besides the sound. clutch is already broken in and had some track time. Another strange issue is occasionally on start up I get a missfire code. I know these issues are related to the flywheel since they were not present before the install. Car runs great thoe. Please only replies from those who are running light weight flywheels. Thanks.

I too get a "dragging" sound after changing over to the Fidanza LW flywheel. I assume it's normal cuz haven't had any driveability issues since. Been running it for over 2 years.

Misfire codes may be from a leak somewhere. Shouldn't come from just the clutch/flywheel install unless something else happened.

I'm currently running the Fidanza LW Flywheel and don't have any noise. Is your clutch disc sprung or unsprung? Only reason why I ask is that I remember when I had my 240SX w/ an unsprung clutch disc; I got some noise with no issues. I have the Exedy stage 1 kit installed which is sprung. Most of the ACT clutches I've seen are unsprung and may be just clutch chatter which is normal.

The misfire issue is most likely caused by something else. Did you remove anything harnesses or make sure you reconnected all harnesses properly? Happened to a friend of mine who didn't properly reconnect one of his coil plugs. If anything than yeah like what That_kid said above.

The clutch disk is a sprung six puck. There were no issues on installation, everything was assembled correctly. I have the factory service manuals. I'm assuming the noise is from loosing the weight and momentum on the gear set during decal. Anyone run the ACT prolight flywheel? As for the miss fire code on start up, it has to be from the flywheel. Nothing was disconnected on the install besides the starter and gound wire. It doesn't come on all the time, when it does its always on cold start. Once cleared it won't come back until next cold start. I'm thinking its the flywheel messing with the crank sensor. Seems to be a common problem with the Subaru's. maybe I can tune it out. Car has no drivability issues. Was hoping someone with the same setup could verify my findings.

Sorry it's been a while since I've been on. Since you don't have any drivability issues then I wouldn't worry to much about the noise. On the CEL on cold starts, check the reverse signal wire to make sure it's properly connected. I would also check any possible grounds on the transmission to make sure all bolts and nuts are tight. It could be possible that the loose ground tightens up after everything gets up to temps. Good luck.
