Smile ?Raceland CAI = Check Engine?

So my boyfriend just bought me a cold air intake for my 2007 Scion tC. The intake was doing well for a few days, then my check engine light comes on while I am driving. I am well warmed up and about 5mi out to my destination. The light at this point had stayed on for 2 days. The morning I start to drive to work I expect the light to be on and it never turns on.. then later as i'm driving home from work, it then again comes on while I am driving down the road and has been on since. The CAI was installed Feb 15th.

I went to Advanced Auto, they ran my codes and they said it was my MAF. Its properly seated.. all my connections are tight and my car is running fine, nothing strange about the way its running. Any ideas guys? Thanks.

Did you disconnect the battery at any point during or after the install?

Possibly damaged during install. It is a very very very delicate piece.

Yup, sounds like a bad MAF sensor.
Always disconnect the battery.
and handle the MAF with extreme care.

I running the Raceland CAI on my car driven 400+ miles no CEL at all.

Probably this.

You could try cleaning it with MAF sensor cleaner (autozone, etc) or try disconnecting the battery and resetting the ECU if that wasn't done yet. Just be sure to let the car idle for 10-15 min afterward.
