Default Raceland CAI

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd post a review of the raceland cold air intake I just installed in my car a few days ago. First off....if you aren't looking to spend much $$ for a cold air intake, I highly recommend this one for sure. Cold air intakes reguardless of brand will put out more hp but not too much. The different brands only vary in price rather than hp. I ordered this raceland intake off of their website for $78 I believe it was. (check it out ) http://www.racelandus.com/c-32-scion.aspx I also ordered a strut tower bar and a header for my 2009 tC. So I got a bunch of stuff for a great price and so far I'm happy with all of the items. (Haven't installed the header yet but will soon). Anyways, I ordered the intake in red. They have the color in chrome, blue and red. Sometimes you won't see the different colors since the cold air intake is a 'hot' item right now. It shipped to my place about 3 days later and on the weekend my friend and I installed it using a website I searched on google that is a DIY. Says it took him 48 minutes to install but for us it was more like an hour. The instructions were well written so it made the install easy. (check it out ) http://clubsciontc.com/forums/diy-in...-intake-32584/ Once I got it all hooked up and started her up...she purred a new sound, a better sound. I took some videos of how it sounds and looks in the engine bay as well as 0-60 from the inside of the car sound. Now the 0-60 was just a test version nothing too crazy, I was driving with 1 hand for God's sake (check it out ) - After install http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAiGqEPpkUM
0-60 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0c7LNwduCU

Just for you guys if you are kinda hesitant to buy this intake I recommend this item. It has an awesome sound and you can't beat the price at all! Hope you guys enjoy the videos and pictures. Thanks.

Well I hope you find a intake that you like and make sure you like what you pay for it as well. I couldn't be happier with mine. If you do choose the raceland intake, feel free to ask me any questions with the install. It isnt hard so I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem.

It looks like it's a 3" up until the maf then it tappers down to a 2.75" after the adapter. Is there any way you can confirm this?

Good question but actually the piping is all the same. The rubber hose is decieving. I took it all apart to make minor adjustments and lined up the tubes to find they were the same size. The rubber hose makes it easy to connect and makes it a little flexable. You have 2 tubes connected to 2 different parts of the car so my guess is that it's used for flexabilty but it's just a guess

So I ordered a header from raceland when I ordered my cold air intAke and strut tower bar but I don't think I'm going to install the header since the sound it puts out makes it sound like a ricer. Not the sound I was looking for. Unless there is a cheap fix, I'm gonna return the item and spend the $ on other parts. Any inputs?

No CEL and I've had it on for a week. I love the sound of it when it hits 3-4 k rpm.
