Default Reaching the 200 HP mark for the tC !!

Hey guys. I know that I am posting something that has already been posted like more than 3 years ago from when the car model was still new and not much mods were out. But we are already in '08 and want to know if anything new has changed from the original post has been made. I would like to make my tC reach the 200 mark and would do what it takes to make it before I drop a turbo in it.. I just want to know if its possible now since many new parts and advances have been made. PLEASE don't make stupid remarks about ohh how much of a noob question this is.. I have tried searching for a couple of days on this topic and all the forums that came up are old like I said.. Please if its possible please tell me.. thanks guys

your best bet would be contacting tCpete as his the closest to reach near 200whp withot tune so i guess if you could manage a similar setup as his and get a good ems to tune it you could reach or pass the 200 whp goal.

Yup, Built Motor (Pretty much everything), Intake, Header, Exhaust, Clutch, Flywheel, Pulleys, and some type of engine management...

That may not even be correct. So don't quote me. I was just throwing things out there...

All bolt ons + either cams, higher compression pistons or a built head revving out higher

For cams you can get stock cams ($100) and send them to Web Camshafts for a hard weld ($600) then get them installed ($600). You are also going to need Emanage/AEM Fic/Apexi AFC to control the fuel and pay for a tune.
Port and Polish .. take the head off and send it out ($1000)
Reinstall and repeat the above as far as fuel management.

whats im trying to say is.. just get a turbo kit

I agree just get you a turbo kit. For all the money you spend trying to reach 200 whp, you can hit 300+whp with a turbo kit. The tc motor isn't a good platform for N/A(unless you throw LOTS of $$$ into it) which is why boost is the way to go.

You can still build the block up and then go turbo. You just hve to be choosy and not do stuff that would be detrimental to a forced induction application (ie. installing higher compression pistons.)

show me? they only thing that I have seen done as far as timing is concerned is retarding the timing.
