yep the tC midpipe has a cat and a resonator. taking it out makes your exhaust louder.

if you have the stock muffler it'll be louder but not bad. if you have an axleback and header on it you're heading towards rasp city

Is it possible that the car will run like sh*t if you remove the cat? My car is straight pipe right now and has two resonators. After about a week or two of it being this way it boggs down under hard acceleration from time to time. I dont really know what it is but maybe its cause theres not enough back pressure???

i have a simple solution to the resonator delete i tested it on my old accord and it worked but holy shiznit it was loud, i feel the louder and more annoying the better cause lets face the facts loud ___ 4 bangers are hilarious, and it was a honda... anyways i had a 2.5 stainless catback system, i cut the pipe at both ends of the resonator and slid a piece of stock 2.25 exhaust pipe in there and welded it at both ends. then stainless welded the midpipe back together. my setup on that car was ebay header, punched out cat, my homade resanator soulution and i also did that to the fart can...needless to say i have only ever heard one car louder than that and it was a mustang running open headers.

Either way, that accord was loud because he gutted the muffler and cat's, not because he took the res out. Obviously taking the res out will make a difference, but nothing like a "mustang with open headers." Fail

During my exhaust change up I replaced everything.... one high flow cat and one 18" resinator then split into dual mufflers and it didn't get raspy just loud..

I don't know what my peak db is from the exhaust but I try to keep it quiet, in town at least. But if you keep your stock header and modify from there you might not have as much of a noise/rasp issue. Then again that kind of sound will also be altered by your muffler, stock or aftermarket.
