Default Resonators-Suggestions/Help!

Hey everyone,

I normally dont post a lot on hear although I do read quite a bit of threads, I looked around and didnt find what I was looking for so please dont bash if I didnt "search" enough.

My friend and his father own a wielding shop and we just got some 2.25 exhaust pipe. Bended it and welded flanges/hangers to make a custom midpipe. They do some nice work and the pipe came out awesome however it made the car pretttyyy RASPY with Injen CAI and TRD exhaust..

So now the next thing to do is find a resonator.

My questions are..

1. Can someone point me in the direction where I can purchase a resonator?
2.What size/type would be "best" to eliminate the rasp?

*note- I know very little about how the resonator works and whats the differences in sizes/types so any info would be helpful. I like to know what i'm talking about and be informed so I can make an educated decision rather than just buying what you guys tell me too..

Thanks for the help,
Tom

Vibrant makes some of the best resonators, I would go with this one:
http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...products_id=45

I have 40" resonator, it does the job, but its heavy as hell, when I get the money I will be getting one from Vibrant, it will do the job and weight allot lesss too.

gwtc- thanks a lot... i'm not too concerned about weight but i may be able to afford the lightweight ones :D

Ace83-No header, but I may get one in the future? Would the aero25 not be enough if i did get one?

Domo- I'll try and do a vid with stock midpipe/TRDexhaust/InjenCAI, then a vid with the new mid/no resonator(very raspy omg..) then one with the resonator.

I live in NJ but i'm headed back to Rochester NY today so next time i come home is when I will put the resonator back on.. (who knows when that is) but when i do and when i make the vids i'll have this thread saved and i'll PM you..

Thanks again for the help!

The aero25 is only 10 or 12 inches, if you have a catless header you would need a way bigger resonator maybe 2 or 3 aero25 I think that would work great. Some with header do a full 30" resonator or do a 12" and an 18" resonator. I just think the aero25 does very well for a resonator its size

Get vibrant resonators. PM NGAmotorsports for a price on them. I got a 12" and a 18" vibrant resonator from them for a really good price last year.

i've used megan, aero and stock. the only 1 that worked was "HUSHPOWER". you only need one also, not like other brands.

^^ and how big it is and you have a catless header? magnaflow has a big 30" resonator and you would only use one. I think the aero25 is a bit better than vibrant. My 12" aero25 did a lil better or about the same as my vibrant 18", both are nice though. Vibrant offers different resonator designs though depends on how quiet you want it.

it's not the matter of size, it's all about the design. i wasted my money on searching till i found "hushpower". i've got c.a.i., header, downpipe, mid pipes, and straight thru exhaust with zero cats.

Its a matter of size and design.. If you tell us how long is that resonator that would give us an idea of how good that resonator is..

Sound clip and video would be nice but really doesnt do justice, usually it would sound way better in reality

which hushpower did you get and what would you recommend for a 2.25" exhaust with the possibility of a future header add on?
