intresting... thanks... I need to learn more about these motors... I have alot of plans in mind.... and being able t rev higher would help greatly.

I just noticed there is no "redline" on the tC's tach.

HAHA..yea, right. Our tC engines have a 3.8" stroke. Thats pretty long for a 4 banger. The K24 Honda's have a 3.9, its just barely longer. Most of the time, you looking at a mid 3 or lower. Of course, we have a large displacement 4 cyl. The pistons are fairly large at 3.5 as well.

By me. it works.
Meaning you went over 130mph? Also, is it easy to install the emanage ultimate?

i heard revving it this high can shorten the ring life of our cars.. is this true??

You don't need to increase to go over 130 had mine up to 135 for a sec ot to but that is as fast it goes geared out so if you change the gearing in the tranny you would get more out of the engine no need for the increase to 6800 rpms ok

Yeah, I'm not an expert on the tC motor, and my memory sucks. Maybe I was mixing up the motor with the Spec V Sentra? Anyway, with a longer strong, you're pistons are gonna be going extremely fast at an increased revline. They have software/calculations for it. . .

I've had mine to 7200, although I dont think its a good idea. With such a long stroke piston speeds would be crazy. I would say anywhere between 6500-6800 would be fairly safe. I was shifting at 6800 with my stock engine and didn't see any problems.

Good observation. But that was the miles after I installed the ultimate. Everything was reset due to removing the battery during the install, so the ECU reset the miles.

Here is how it works.

You can program it to any rev limit you want. Just set the new rev limit to 7800rpm, and you have 7800rpm, but I wouldn't go that high unless you improve your internals. It works by holding the last setting fed to the ECU (airflow/RPM/duty cycle) just long enough for the ECU not to realize that it is just past ~6100rpms. Once ~6100 is passed, you plug in the values into the ultimate for the airflow and duty cycle of the injectors that you want at 6800 rpm with some compensation for airflow/duty cycle. The speed deactivator is just a checked option. Easy as that.

How is the emanage connected to the tc? Is it easy as plugging into an existing harness or does it require electrician skills? I am fairly competant but I'm not all that great with electronic components.

If you know how to hook up an aftermarket car radio with some wire splicing, then this is no different. I would recommend knowledge of soldering to make a more secure connection. Here are some pics of the ECU location, and a pix of after splicing and hooking up some wires.

with 2-3 hours, you can save $285 with self wiring instead of purchasing a plug-and-play harness. This is if you don't mind voiding the warranty, 'cuz once you splice the ECU wire, your warranty is out, if "they" find out. If those nice sponsors on this forum would tell me where I can buy those ECU blank harness/adapters so I can make my own plug and play harness, I wouldn't have to splice my ECU wires. Those darn blank harnesses/adapters only cost about $10 total. My warranty is out in 3000 miles anyways.

View the Greddy ultimate install guide and manual from the greddy tech page. It tells you the functions and all the pin outs with diagram. There is one wrong pin. Call Greddy for that:

Just thought of something. What size tires are you running? Stock? I bet with a slightly taller tire you'd be able to hit 60 mph in second gear with a raised redline.

One more thing. I see there is no redline on the tc tach. So ecu just limits it to 6100. What is the true redline of this car? Do the four cylinder camries have a tach with a redline on them?

There is a Redline, "Reddish Area", his camera did not pic that up.
