Default Review: AW header + TRD/Greddy SP2 exhaust

well i purchased the trd exhaust for a future tc owner, but in the mean time i decided to slap it on to see what it sounds like. I have the AW header and Injen CAI. once the TRD exhaust was put on, it was VERY loud! after driving it for two days, i really didnt hear any rasp...this might be due to the exhaust being so loud that you cant even hear the rasp if there was any. the tone wasnt really what i wanted. it was too high pitched for me and way too much droning in the cabin, even when i was daily driving. it went from really loud in the lower rpms to less loud in the higher rpms. it was borderline "fartcan" noise IMO as well as my fmy review on this combo: if you want a LOUD exhaust, go with trd if you already have the AW header.

Two days later, my Greddy SP2 came in (thanks to XD40tC). i couldnt wait to get the TRD off. after putting ont he SP2, i started it up and it was very close to a stock sounding car! mayb a tad deeper but anybody that didnt drive a tC would not have noticed. there is little to no droning in the cabin, depending on the way you are driving. if its daily driving, you dont hear it really. if you're having some fun you'll definitely hear it. it's a much deeper tone at low rpms but tends to get a little higher pitched as you get up there but never as high pitched as the TRD.i would've liked it more if it kept it's deeper tone longer through the rpm. My review on the SP2: It's perfect. if you're someone looking to have a quiet daily car, and a great sounding performance car, this is the exhaust for you.

Sorry, no sound clips

Good description.

You may want to hang the exhaust at the last hanger differently so it does not hang so low off the bumper. The rubber hanger has two holes in it, put both metal hooks into one of these holes causing it to hang up higher to the bumper. Looks much much better and is not to close to the bumper to cause problems. Its been several mounths and it still hangs perfect. When it sits low it looks way to big and somewhat out of place.

^^umm im not sure what exactly you are talking about..i used all three hangers in the same place the stock one was. the hanger on the driver side was a little bit tougher to get to because you sorta had to stretch it a bit to get to the hanger on the SP2. is that what you were talking about?

The rubber hanger itself on the passenger side. Its a piece of rubber with 2 holes in it. 1 metal hanger on the car goes in one hole on the rubber hanger and the other metal hanger on the exhaust goes in the other hole on the rubber hanger. Now it hangs from the car as it should. Go to the rubber hanger on the passenger side and put both metal hanger into 1 hole rather than each metal hanger going into different holes on the rubber hanger. this raises the exhaust about 3/4 inch. Now it wont hang so low and look even bigger than it is.
