i just start my car, let it idle for like 2 minutes, then shift through the gears wipe the dipstick and check the fluid.

The only thing you need to do with auto transmissions is make sure it's running. Hot, cold, it really doesn't matter, most sticks have marks for both cold and hot operating temperatures. And lets be honest if your transmission is low on fluid (and I mean below add not in between add and full) cold don't you think it's still going to need fluid when warm? And if it's over the full mark cold you think the fluid is going to shrink when hot? Oh and I'm not really sure what cycling through the gears does for an automatic but since it only takes 5 seconds, meh, whatever.

The engine oil you'll want to check after the engine has been shutdown for a bit. Five minutes is a little on the long time for that but it won't hurt. Checking right after the engine is shut off or even with the engine running will give you false readings.

Couldn't find one specific for Scion tC so don't use their capacities on this one.

^^ thank you
\\
now for the ATF what should i do?? owners manual says something about getting atf fluid at normal operating temp so i thought this would be correct driving the car around the city for 15min ...
come back home park it on a leveled drive way...
shift thru all my gear then back to P...
with engine still running pull the dip stick wipe reinsert all the way pull out and check the level making sure the level would be somewhere inbetween the hot zone

i dont like being a PITA but i really love my tc and i want the best for my baby = )

thanks again for all the help

Just pull the dipstick and check the level. Its not that hard man, like everyone said just let it warm up to normal operating temp and check it. you are stressing over something that is not a huge deal.

mmm i stop by at york auto group (nearby toyota dealer) today and asked about this^^

service advisor said there is no way i would get an accurate reading by using the dipstick and that i would need a scan tool to make sure the atf was at ???/degrees before reading the dipstick....

wow you really just wont take anyones answer will you? it not a huge deal man, its not like it is going to burn up that fast? in my old car i went like 50k miles without checking it and never had a problem. They wouldnt put a dipstick if there was no reason! is it going to give you the exact amount in there....no but it will let you know if you are low or not.
