S-Pipe Install
Hi guys. I got my S-pipe from megan racing the other day and im looking to get it installed. I dont trust the local muffler shops such as mieneke and others which tried to charge me $85/hour!! So I went to the best custom shop in my area, EXOTIC CUSTOMS. They charge $65 an hour and said they would need two hours. I really dont want to pay that much to get it installed but do I have any other options? They are a very reputable shop and do some amazing work but I dont know if I want to drop what I paid for the s-pipe on the install. Any suggestions guys? Thanks.
i say do it yourself. im not sure about the s pipe, but im pretty sure things in the exhaust area are pretty easy to install.
when your done let me know if you feel a difference, because it looks like you have the same power mods as me and i was looking into buying the MR s pipe.

I dont have a lift and it would be pretty hard to do with a jack thats why I was going to get it installed somewhere. And they are charging $130 for the install. Any more suggestions?
<- Jack stands and by myself in about 1 hour.
Included 5 minutes of cool-down time with a water spray bottle.
Included 20minutes of cursing because I couldnt' get the O2 sensor to seat properly.
Included 5 minutes because I'm a moron and couldn't figure out how to unclip the O2 sensor's electrical connection.

really, just do it yourself and save the money. i've twice pulled out my mustang transmission out of the bottom of the car on jackstands so this should be cake. just be careful and be sure to anti seize the o2 sensor.
What does anti seize the o2 sensor mean? I want to do it myself but the pipe didnt come with any directions what so ever and I cant find a DIY for the s-pipe on here. Can someone help me out and save me some cash? Also does anyone have the s-pipe by megan? How is the fitment?
My 02 sensor came right out without spraying anything on it.. Just make sure it's cooled off first.
You really don't need directions.. Just jack the car up, unbolt the 2 bolts from the header to the s-pipe (you can see these when you pop the hood, but they're easier to get from under the car).. After then you unscrew the 02 sensor (use an adjustable wrench).. Then unbolt the 2 bolts between the s-pipe and the midpipe.
Replace it with the new s-pipe, install the 4 bolts and the 02 sensor and you're done.

well anti-seize is only a preventative thing. u get them at autozone in those $1.19 packets. it looks like a silver goop, and you put it onto the threads of the o2 sensor to prevent it from locking up the next time u take it off. it's not absolutely necessary, but i've stripped enough bolts/studs to use it on exhaust stuff all the time.

Ditto............but I just lifted the left side of the car up and worked on it sideways
ok guys I installed it with one of my friends. Everything went well except I have a question. Did anyone recieve nuts to go on with the washers to keep the rear bolts from unscrewing themselves? My buddy said I might want to go to homedepot and bring the old bolt and get a nut that fits and put it on them, did anyone do this? Also is it necessary to jack the car back up like a day later after the install to re-tighten the bolts?
