Default S-pipe + midpipe combo question

I have done some research and I get mixed info, please set me straight.

I have seen posts saying the Megan mid is 2.5" and others say its 2.25" Which is it really. Looking to get the Invidia spipe (been told its 2.5") with the megan if they mate well and are the same diameters, is this the case? If they are not the same would this lower gains right?

Looking to go turbo within the next 6-8 mo. and want to get full exhaust before, so will that choice work well? Any other suggestions as to what will work well for me.
Got borla axleback and looking at the stage 0 soon.

i just installed my megan piping "down pipe, mid pipe, & s pipe" with my trd axle back exhaust. The box from megan that i purchased says its 2.5" Not sure if they carry more than one size.

well since the piping is not thick it can be both. Id be safer saying o/d. You will be happy with the megan mid pipe. Just realize that the megan mid pipe consist of 2 pieces not one like the stock mid pipe, but doesnt make a difference. I think its worth it.

Yeah ive got a cai as well and the headers are waiting for me to install them. I just wanted to see the difference with and without headers. As far as gains, i agree it is noticable.
the set up does have its ups and downs but i think its worth every penny. I do have to say after watching all the clips posted with this set up is different that what your car will actually sound like, the sound clips dont always do justice.

its an easy install as long as you can get under the car. The only issue i had was when connecting the piping to the axle back exhaust. It was a tight squeeze. took less than an hour and im no mechanic but am some what familiar with installs.

nice to know . But how about the invidia spipe with the megan midpipe does anyone have this setup? I like the Invidia pipe, but not against getting the megan spipe & midpipe setup sans the headers of course. Getting under the car might be an issue till i go and get a pair of little tower thingys at autozone or discount auto.

true, its a little more but maybe worth it for a full exhaust, does the ZPI spipe hang low as it has been posted, or was that something on early spipe applications and the issue resolved?

ok i just installed my dc headers with this set up and i dont like it. The set up is freakin loud and way raspy. Now i have to decide if i want to go with the stock mid pipe and leave my trd exhaust or leave the megan set up and go with the stock exhaust. Anyone have any recomendations for me. I am running "dc headers > Megan down pipe > megan mid pipe > trd exhaust" i still want to keep the gains but dont want to be that loud. If i add a resonator to my megan mid will i lose power, or is it even worth it noise wise?

i e-mailed Megan Racing about their midpipe size and Steve from Megan Racing replied with the following:

Go forth and spread my word to the forums...

2.4360" = ID
2.5040" = OD

Hope this helps.

hey thanks for the reply sleep3r. I noticed you had some post in another forum regarding the resonator. If i was to use the resonator on my megan mid would i replace the resonater already on the megan mid piping? Did you end up using the aero resonator? Do you know how it would sound with the megan piping set up, trd exhaust, and headers?

you know problem is i heard that the trd sounds great but when you add a header its over, i dont know about how it will sound if you add a magnaflow high flow cat and large resonator 30" + in the mid tho?? but yeah adding those two items in the mid should be fine like everyone else is saying..........
