Default s pipe without header?

just as i'm sure many of you are, i'm trying to free up some exhaust flow and gain a little power without my car sounding like crap...
would it be beneficial to replace the stock s pipe if i do not replace the header? i usually hear of this being done at the same time.

also, if i was to get a new header i would like to use a new gasket. is this the exact same OEM gasket that i would get from the dealership or is there something different about one used for an aftermarket header?

i guess i have two options:
Plan A - K&N CAI ---> keep stock exhaust manifold ---> (maybe) replace s pipe
---> catback exhaust

Plan B - K&N CAI ---> alphawerks or dc sports header ---> new s pipe ---> keep the rest of the exhaust stock

what do y'all think?

Second option is best by far, yields the most gains for the buck make sure you get the alphawerk header superior design and offers the most gain. In addition to this you will have much more versatility, removed the biggest bottleneck. A catback should then be engineered and tuned to sound and flow well with the header S pipe combo.. much higher gains from the 3

you will get gains but not near as many as with the header. i was shocked the little kick in the butt i got on my AUTO with the alphawerks.
