Default Safe to switch between maps using unichip?

I know the instructions say turn engine off when you want to switch maps, but is it necessary to? I think i've read on other forums of people switching maps while driving, was just wondering if this is actually safe/ok to do. Thanks.

I'd turn it off. When you switch maps it's not instantanious, so there may be a transition period where the injector could get a bad signal, making the injectors work different than intended.
