Default Scion and the "Free" Oil changes

Yeah I know, get off my lazy ___ and change the damn oil myself. But I am at my 10k and I figured I would take it in to get a free oil change they still owe me as well as a rotation and wheel balance.

However, I have injen CAI, AW header, invidia S-Pipe, Custom Midpipe, and trd axle back...

Is it a smart idea to take it to the dealer even if the oil change is free or will they say something about my car? Gah...I need the time to do it myself but am hard pressed for it....

Anurok

btw, here to hoping all Cali cops that pull me over are cool.

^^I hope not.

The dealership should still do the free changes. They did mine and I had my K&N CAI on.

Actually, those "Free oil changes" are prepaid in the price of the vehicle.

There should be no question of a dealer doing the oil changes even if you towed the car in, so long as it is under 36,000 miles and three years.

Even it they were to have heartburn with aftermarket parts (which they shouldn't), they still have a contractual commitment to change your oil.

10k on the factory oil? eeeek!
Collect a sample and send it for a Used Oil Analysis. I'd love to see all the junk floating around in it.

Oh god no

First time since I modded though ha. No I changed it at 4k and now I am about 9k miles. I was an idiot and new to modding so I didn't change my oil till the maint light went on. After I get these free ones I will be doing it myself...once I read the manual and find out where the oil filter is...

I am really only doing it there because I need my tires rotated and balanced too. I can do the oil change at home but not the balancing.

yea, my dealer offers free oil changes for life on the car. I still dont go to them though lol. The amount of time it takes me to drive to the dealer (1 way) is how long it takes me to do my own oil change (15 minutes). So I am saving time by doing it myself. Plus, this way the dealer doesnt touch my car and I know its done right with quality stuff.

i remember my first free oil change... when i got my car back, i did the paperwork, got in the car, started it and i noticed that the oil light wouldnt go off and it had a rough idle. so i turned the car off and got the service dept. manager who had an attitude. i tell him what was wrong so he gets all huffy and walks to my car, pops the hood, pulls out the dipstick, looks at it, his eyes widen... he was the nicest person after he pulled that dipstick out, lmao

The dealer no way in hell will say anything to you about what you have in your car. You are going in for an oil change not a warranty repair. They have no business saying anything but "thank you" for getting the change done there or "thank you" for overspending your $38 for a $26 change.
