Scion tC Front Motor Mount Bracket
I noticed a lot of movement in the front motor mount on my 2005 tC. My question is, why does the bracket have a slot in it where the motor mount bolts to it
.
This lets the engine move about an inch. It will also make a knock sound if you shift hard. Tightening the bolt helped but I don't understand the slot in the bracket.
I found the factory parts drawing and it shows the slot so I know it's factory. There is even some wear on the bolt where it has been moving.

I just replaced my front motor mount yesterday. I noticed that the bushing on my OEM mount was different compared to that of the bushing in the new OEM mount. I'm assuming there were a lot of part changes during the change from 05-07's to the 08-10's. The engine doesn't move as much at idle anymore. I was going to take pictures but totally forgot to and just installed the part.

I went back and looked at the Ptuning mount. I think it still uses the bracket with the slot.
