Lightbulb Scion Tc Oil Change via Dipstick Tube

Hey everyone. Just wondering if anyone has tried to change their oil via the dipstick tube pump method.

Here's an example:

I figure the dipstick tube runs directly to the bottom of the oil pan, but I wanted to hear about the experiences of others that have tried it. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt, but I wanted to get a good review on whether it's able to suck out the oil properly. I'm going to try it as soon as I hit the next following 3k miles when I need an oil change. For the first try I'll do the pump method and then take the oil pan plug off to see if any further oil drains out.

Cheers.

Since you have to crawl under the car to change the filter too. This pump is waste of money. Edmund's website did a review of this type of pump. It is only good if you have a car that have the filter on top.

LOL might as well do it the old fashion way since you're gonna be down there anyways

agree this would be kind of a moot point on the tc, being you still have to crawl under there, but i also have an is300 and this would be perfect for that! thanks for the link, i had never even heard of these!
